I made a scrumptious candy!

Last weekend we met some of our kids at Myrtle Beach, SC and you know grandma had to make some goodies to take.
The photo is a toffee crunch candy that has crushed nuts on the bottom, a thick sugar butter mixture, and melted chocolate chips on top.
They're gluten free (yes, they really are good) and my husband and son in law could eat them.
I also made sausage balls, fried pecans, and rice krispie squares.
I love cooking for my babies. Do you like to cook?

I used to love to cook, when I had someone to show off to.

I can understand. All the years I worked, I cooked good meals for the family, but now it's just the two of us and I'm enjoying the challenge of making gluten free foods that actually taste good.

It really was a great weekend. Our grandson Nathan couldn't miss two days of school and the other three grandkids live farther away, but the six of us had fun. The candy is really easy to make...if you want to try it, I'll pm you the recipe.

If only I could indulge in your creation, for sure they are much much better than store bought candy. All the other foods you mentioned sounds exciting to try. I love to cook, it's one of those things that I love to do.

@1creekgirl so many but most Philippine dishes are influenced or Filipinized Spanish, Chinese or American. I like cooking Filipino "Embutido" ( an adopted Spanish name but it's closer to the American meat loaf) " I also love " lumpia" both the meat and vegetable version but even these have Chinese origins , they are Chinese spring rolls.

Everyone enjoyed the candy and especially the sausage balls. They were gluten free so all of us could eat them. I'll just have to make a bigger batch next time!
