Are you a sock fascist?

Some friends called round once, when I had washing on the line, and the husband called me a ‘sock fascist’ because I had pegged the socks out in pairs.
Well as far as I can see socks are worn in pairs, so at some point they do need to be paired up (unless of course you are a single person and all your socks are exactly the same).
So you can keep them in pairs in the washing machine
Or you can pair them up when you peg them out
Or you can pair them up when you collect the dry washing in
Or you can pair them up when you put them away
Or you can just scrabble around in the drawer collecting a pair when you want to wear them.
But whichever way you do it, it still needs to be done once, and only once.
So what difference does it make if you do it sooner rather than later?
What do you do with yours?

I don´t put them in the washer until they are not paired,

I hang it in pairs too and even put it in the drawer by pair too. I like it that way because it is easier for me and my husband to find it quick

When I wear socks, mine are all the low-rise black socks but I do ball them together after I take them out of the dryer and then put them into the sock drawer. During the Spring, Summer and Fall I usually wear sandals without socks unless I have to go somewhere that won't let me wear sandals.
