Productive Procrastination

United States

Is there such a thing? Perhaps Not. Or perhaps it's all in perspective. Today has been a productively procrastinating day. I've accomplished some of the tasks I've set out to do, and I am sure I'll accomplish them all. Yesterday was much like today. I began my main task late yesterday, and yet succeeded in completing it within an hour and a half, less time than I gave myself to do it. So yes, in my eyes, Productive Procrastination is a thing, and it works for me. We all have to figure out how to navigate our days, right?

I've never made a plan for the day, but when I read your posts, I think more and more often that I should do it.

I try strike a balance between planning and letting the day go as it will. What I do works for me, but it has taken quite some time to figure that out.

@JimBo452020 I just let the day carry me, but maybe I should change that.

I leave my discussions open to interpretation. As I can not see into your world and know what you do on a day to day basis, nor can you see into mine and understand my needs and desires. Thank You.

Well, I think we can have productive procrastination, I sometimes do different things than what planned but it works.

I liked yesterday. Far too often I put too much stress on myself. The way I tackled the day was better for me and it is what I will try to do from now on.

@LadyDuck That makes for unpleasant evenings, being too tired to enjoy them. I find that I am too much in my thoughts. Sometimes this makes me lazy, but other times it gives me grief.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I am trying to slow down too, I often want to do too much and I end up being extremely tired.

Some of us do it very ... uhm... creatively, apparently. We went to run our errands and had a blowout. *sigh* All the tire shops were closed today so Monday already has a To-do list started.

@DaddyEvil Is that good or bad? I don't know that much about BP stats, and I know everyone's is different. Wouldn't let walmart do anything with the tires? Or do they still do tires at walmart?

@ScribbledAdNauseum We had already checked the tire shops in our city to have both front tires replaced and found them closed, so went to Walmart to do some shopping. As we turned into their lot the passenger side tire blew. We called AAA. It took them an hour and a half to show up. From 12 miles away. We did our shopping while waiting on them. They dropped our car at the shop we wanted, I left the keys and instructions and then the driver took us and our groceries home. It comes and goes. My bp was 137/78 before we left and was still the same when we got home. I keep checking it every time I get a dizzy spell.

It is so easy for us to rush things, isn't it? Yet so difficult to take things slow.

@CarolDM I am learning this now. We really accomplish a lot once we learn to take things slow.

Or just go with the flow without navigation.

@JimBo452020 for some reason a river where we go floating comes to mind. It's not exactly ideal. Lots of rocks and we have to stand up and walk a few times because it's just too rocky.

I completely agree. I like to prioritize and take my time. No harm in that, right?

As long as it works for you, that's what matters right? But I can agree with that.
