Stupid Parents

@Jstory07's post on stupid parents reminded me of what my daughter experienced yesterday. She went to the store parked and leaned over to get her purse when she heard a baby crying. The car next to her had an infant inside and another small toddler...all alone! Now this was in southern Louisiana and it is already hot here. Yesterday it was also very humid. Leaving those babies in the car with windows rolled up was just cruel. I told her to call the cops. She didn't listen to me. She sat in the car until the owner came out. It just happened to be a lady. When it was obvious that the lady was going to the car next to her my daughter got out of her car and told her that she didn't deserve to be a parent. The lady just smiled at her and got in her car. To me it sounds like this lady does this all the time. I wish my daughter had called the cops on her so she could have been booked for cruelty and abandonment of a juvenile. This is so upsetting. I don't see how people can do this to their own kids or any small kids. The heat rises very quickly in a sealed up vehicle. Have you ever witnessed babies or small kids being left in cars with windows rolled up? Photo: Pixabay, Public Domain

babies, and dogs left in cars. I literally have 911 on the line the minute I see it.

@DocAndersen It would have been much safer than what she did if you get my drift.

She should have called the police. She wouldn't have been smiling then. Especially if they came with child services.

I don't think she would have been smiling facing a cop from letting her get in her car and leave.

@kareng No, she wouldn't have been. Police are often in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart here.

No but I have called the cops on a car with a pup in it during the summer some years ago. They came and rescued the pup but I didn't stick around to see if they found the owner of the car.

I don't blame you. My husband had to break a window when he was working in law enforcement. A lady had gone into a store and someone reported an infant in a car alone with windows up. She cussed him out but when her husband arrived on the scene he thanked my husband. Some people just don't have much in the brain department apparently.

I wish your daughter had called the police! Horrible thing to leave children alone and alone in a hot car. No, I haven’t noticed anything like that thank goodness.

I am not good in looking at anything inside other cars unless someone points things out to me (like funny dogs having their heads out of the car windows etc).

The baby was crying loudly and that made her look around for a baby.

Yes, she was right about her comment to the mother but the mother should not have left the children in the first place.

OMG! That is indeed stupidity leaving babies inside the car. Your daughter should have called the cop. I hope that stupid mother will not do that again.

They take their kids for granted. One of those "it can't happen to MY kid(s)."

Some people are very ruthless, they don't care about their children, they are careless parents. I felt bad about that little baby being alone in the car.
