Honey Bunny Feeding Babies

Still monitoring the baby rabbits in the yard. This is the momma, I named her Honey Bunny (after Bugs Bunny's girlfriend). She comes about once a day to feed the babies. And she covers the nest up and makes it very hard to see when she is done. Keeps the predators away hopefully. Another good baby momma, taking care of her little ones. So much going on in the yard right now. Other surprises later to share. Photo is mine snapped in the backyard from the deck.

@CarolDM I know they make their nests in the ground, but I never saw one in person.

She is lovely, I cannot believe how smart they are. I have seen which animal is taking care of that egg... a hen! She comes from the barn of the farmer across the road, there is a small hole in the hedge that separate our garden from the one of my neighbors she comes here and check sits on her egg for a while. Weird!

How cool! Could you put some food out for her, or would she reject it and would that endanger her? (I keep forgetting you’re out in the country, not in the city so you’ll have more critters roaming around.)

She eats the clover in the yard. And she usually comes out either early morning or during the night. I have to be careful not to scare her away.
