I Reminded Her of Someone

Has been a cloudy day today. Snapped these clouds earlier. Looks like rain, but so far nothing. Just clouds.
A few errands got done today. While I was out, I passed by a lady who said I reminded her of her late daughter. A very interesting statement that got my attention
I walked back to her and told her thank you. She seemed a little surprised at my response. I told her what better compliment to hear from a Mom.
Her eyes teared up and she thanked me over and over. I told her it was an honor to hear this from a grieving Mom. And shared I was also a grieving Mom. I told her how amazing it would be if I saw someone that reminded me of my son.
She just patted my shoulder and walked away. I hope I helped her in some small way. And I remember maybe twice, seeing someone who did remind me of Dustin. Your heart kind of skips a beat, in a good way for a split second. So I kind of knew how this lady felt.
Life is full of those little things in life. Pay attention so you don't miss them.

Life needs more moments like these. Where two souls can connect, if only for a brief moment. I am sure you made an impact on her day.

I love the last statement to pay attention so we don’t miss it.
I would be honored if someone would tell me i remind them of their daughter too I have not seen anybody that reminded me of my parents. I may have a good relationship with my mother in law but i could never see my mom in her at all.
You did well Carol.

@CarolDM I believe that too. Sorry I’m not on here often these days. I hardly touch my ipad for being on Mylot. I’m using it more just as a planner these days. And I’m being lazy again. Well only in coming here.

I know where you are coming from and I am glad you spoke to and comforted this woman. I have seen only once someone who reminded me of my soul mate Martin and that experience just left me breathless until I pulled myself together,

I don't think that was a coincidence. I think it was a God-incidence that He knew would bless both of you.

That is wonderful that you took the time to approach her and speak to her. You never know, you could have been an angel to that grieving woman.

This is a very sweet story, Carol. I believe God sends people to us and we to them to remind us that God knows and understands, and our loved ones who are not with us anymore are in His Presence.
I think you helped made her day. Just where and when God needed you to be at the right time and right place.

what a kind (but expected) thing you did. amazing.
I have seen people that look like people I've lost over the years. It does make you stop.

Sometimes, I think when things like this happen, it is sort of meant to be. You gave her a moment in time she won't forget, and you weren't even trying to. Being a grieving Mom is not an easy task, nor does it ever go away. You always miss your child. It's been many years, and I still miss one of mine.
I do try hard to pay attention to the little things, too.

Those must be hard times, but I'm glad you were with that woman, at least for a moment.
