We just watched this movie..a true story and so heart warming.
It's an American adaptation of a 1987 Japanese movie. It's about an Akito dog whose love and loyalty to a professor who found him at a train station was truly amazing.
We saw it on Netflix, but you might can find it somewhere else.
Starring Richard Geer, it's very touching. I highly recommend it.

I think it's been on TV; but I never watched it. I love dogs; so I'll have to watch for it. Thank you for the recommendation.

I have a sort of love/hate relationship with this movie. I love the story, the utter devotion of the dog to his master until the end, and it's a true story. But, it rips my heart up at the end, it just does, I feel so terrible for the dog. My heart is mush when it comes to animals and I hate sad endings, to me this has a very sad ending. However, it is a good movie.

I know how you feel. I like happy endings, but this was so heartwarming.

I love movies that are either inspired or based on a true story.

I'll have to keep it in mind if I ever re-consider re-subscribing to Netflix.
