Part one of our remodel is done

I've not been here a lot lately for various reasons. Often I'll stop in on my breaks and lunches but I've been taking short naps during those recently.
Another reason is the plumber came last week to change the valve so the water could be shut off to put in a new toilet and floor in the bathroom. That was done yesterday by one person while the owner of the company worked on enlarging the doorway into the kitchen.
What a mess. We have plaster walls with curved doorways so a metal lathe was used on the curved portions. The rest, thankfully was wood lathes behind the plaster. Still quite messy.
First I had to cover things up. Then I moved what would be in the way into my bedroom. Last night I had to move it all back where it goes although I saved some for today. And I'm cleaning the floor where the work was done as it looks like dust in the air.
Part two will consider of gutting the kitchen, getting new flooring, cupboards, countertops and appliances. That may not begin until July.

@MarshaMusselman I hope it will not be too long. May be in a few weeks you will be enjoying your remodeled house.

Lots and lots of dust. I wonder how long it takes to settle.

@LadyDuck that probably won't happen until July depending on how much I can get done when I'm not working. I want to go through our pantry and see if we have outdated items first and then box up the things we don't use often.

@MarshaMusselman This sort of thing is always a mess. But the end result makes it all worth it.

The first part went well and now we know what kind of lathes are in the walls for taking out the soffets over the cupboards for more space.

The way the doorway was before we couldn't get a new refrigerator into the kitchen even with removing the doors.

It's a mess and a headache now but will be so nice when it's all finished.

The house for dusty just with this little bit. I can't imagine how dusty it will be one the kitchen is torn apart. At least the only plaster they're removing is the soffets. Maybe the dust will stay mostly in the kitchen.
