Memorial Day weekend will be arriving this weekend and many will be cooking their favorite foods to celebrate. Summertime is the season for cookouts with some great reasons to fire up the grill like the nice weather, family get togethers, and the Fourth of July and Labor Day holidays. In a recent 2020 poll of America's favorite condiments you might be surprised at the result. Americans eat $2 billion worth of this condiment each year, according to data from Euromonitor. If you think it's ketchup you'd be wrong. Ketchup is way behind with only $800 million and Mustard is picks up the rear, coming in at about $450 million. Any other guesses? I'm a ketchup lover myself putting it on both hamburgers and hotdogs. One topping I add to hotdogs which might seem unusual to some is baked beans. Polls taken on voting for favorite brands found that it was Heinz for ketchup and Guldens for mustard. So, which favorite condiments do you put on those hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, sausage or other food items you eat when celebrating those summer and holiday cookouts? Do you have a least favorite condiment? Mine would be Horseradish and sauerkraut. Some Source Info: People, Google Photo: heinz.com

For me it's ketchup on hot dogs and hamburgers. I know Nathan's (manufacturer of Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs) would have a heart attack if they knew I defiled a hot dog with ketchup instead of mustard; but that's my preference. As for the mystery condiment...relish? I wouldn't think that would be #1. Hot sauce? I could see that as #1. Least favorite? It's not a condiment, but RAW ONIONS. Can't stand 'em!

I put both ketchup and mustard on my hot dog but at times have only used mustard. Mayo is America's top selling condiment surpassing ketchup. The most popular brand is Hellmann's. Other condiments people like to put on their foods are Sriracha, tartar sauce, honey mustard, soy, wasabi. Do you use any of these items? What's your favorite brand of ketchup and mustard?

I am going with probably cheese #1 and bacon #2. But when it comes to hot dogs and hamburgers for me, it's an anything goes sort of thing. It depends on my mood, really. But sauerkraut and horseradish are definite yes's for at least hotdogs and ESPECIALLY brats or Italian sausages. Hamburgers I am not sure if I have ever put sauerkraut on one, but I would also not be opposed to trying it.

@dgobucks226 A bacon cheeseburger does sound really good right now. Hmmm. As for mayo, I prefer Miracle Whip personally. But hardly ever put it on my burger. As for the other stuff, I have used all of them except for Sriracha. Just not a fan. Can't think of a least favorite condiment off the top of my head. As for my favorite brand of ketchup or mustard, I always buy generic anyway. lol.

I am afraid I am rather dull. I like bbq chicken with soy sauce and garlic only. But now that I am cutting meat out, that is out too. Oh and the soy..no good for me. So I guess mustard and perhaps some sort of pickle and indeed sauerkraut and horseradish. Love those.

I see. Sometimes I'll add relish to my hot dog along with mustard and ketchup. Never took a fancy to sauerkraut. Mayo is America's top selling condiment surpassing ketchup. The most popular brand is Hellmann's. Other condiments people like to put on their foods are Sriracha, tartar sauce, honey mustard, wasabi. Do you use any of these items on foods? What's your least favorite condiment?

For me it's Heinz ketchup for burgers, and brown mustard for hot dogs As for chicken I like to use a honey bbq sauce Sausage I split down the middle and then squeeze a bit of lemon on it while it cooks. Condiments do make a difference when it comes to grilling

@dgobucks226 actually I'm not sure what the lemon does to the sausage. My son does it this way and we've done it ever since. All I know is bbq sausages are delicious I love Hellmans mayo ! As for other condiments I like honey mustard but have never tried wasabi. Guess my least favorite would be anything hot and spicy. I do like baked beans and have put them on my hot dogs too!

I like your idea of the lemon. What's the purpose of that? How does it affect the sausage? I also use the bbq sauce for chicken, yum. Mayo is America's top selling condiment surpassing ketchup. The most popular brand is Hellmann's. Other condiments people like to put on their foods are Sriracha, tartar sauce, honey mustard, soy, wasabi. Do you use any of these items? I have a bottle that looks almost like that in my fridge. It's sugar-free Heinz ketchup. I also like French's mustard. We agree on least favorite. Though I would never put beans on hot dogs. Or even in my mouth for that matter. I never liked baked beans.

@dgobucks226 I don't eat hot dogs anymore. When I did, I put as much ketchup, mustard, and relish on it to hide the taste of the hot dogs. I really don't like hot dogs. I don't like Hellman's. I used Kraft Mayo. Now, I use Kraft's Avocado Oil Mayo. Yum!

@just4him Oh, I've only tried Kraft a few times. Now, with store prices increasing I've been buying Shop Rite's mayo. Not bad and half the price!

Before the plastic style ketchup containers I remember the famous Heinz bottle style. Yes, French's is another very popular kind. I like baked beans but really enjoy them on hot dogs. As a youngster there was a restaurant in our town that had them like that on their menu. That's how I discovered that combo! Frank and beans, lol. Mayo is America's top selling condiment surpassing ketchup. The most popular brand is Hellmann's. Other condiments people like to put on their foods are Sriracha, tartar sauce, honey mustard, soy, wasabi. Do you use any of these items? What's your least favorite condiment?

@dgobucks226 I read that pasta sauce was at the top of many lists as a favorite. Depends on what I am eating. I like mayo on sandwiches. Mustard and ketchup on hot-dogs and fries. Heinz is a favorite brand of ketchup and French's mustard.
