Well friends, May is gone and June is here. Do you have any special plans for June?
I'm looking forward to some good weather here. We have had some hot days in high 80's with high humidity where it felt like 99 degrees already. I'm sure we will have more of those kind of days but I'm hoping for more days with temps in the 80's!
I am starting to plan a couple of trips for us. So far I have booked a Fall trip to the Smoky Mountains. It has been since I was 18 years old that I have been there at the height of seeing the beautiful autumn leaves in the mountains. We have made a few summer trips and winter trips but have not hit on the colorful months of October and November so I'm taking care of that. Reservations are made!
I am also planning a beach trip where one of the twins and her family will be going along with us. Her oldest will be turning 9 and has never been to see the ocean. They have taken a trip to the panhandle in Florida, but that is mostly Gulf of Mexico there. The waves are much better on the east coast! So that is where we will be heading.
The only other plans I have is to try to get some of these lilies in a lily bed. I also need to learn the names of the mystery blooms and tag them. I am hoping that the garden does well and we get some produce before any traveling begins.
What do you have planned for June? For the summer?

We are still having daytime temps in the lower 60s here although this coming weekend we'll get some high 70s.
I've been working on our flowerbed out front. We still need to buy something to bury into the ground so I can plant my Green Striped Bamboo. I can't plant it directly into the ground here as there isn't anything to stop it from making a break into neighborhood yards like there was at our last house.
We aren't planning any trips until after the pandemic ends. Who knows when that will be.
I hope you have good trips this year.

Yeah that bamboo is quiet invasive. We have some down the road from us that someone planted along the edge of the woods. It is thick now. Every few years someone will come and chop some of it off and take the bamboo home with them. I've heard of drinking glasses being made from it but never seen any.
I think Covid is here to stay just like the flu is.

@kareng You've heard that the newest versions of the coronavirus is quicker to pass on and kills more than the original virus, right? Even with vaccination, you can still get it. You just won't die from it, probably.
None of my bamboo got that big around. I did sell several canes of it for use as fishing poles, though.

@DaddyEvil Yes, heard it all. Also, vaccinations have not been in use long enough to know the REAL adverse reactions and side effects down the road. No thanks.
Yep, fishing poles is a good use for the bamboo!

That's a lovely flower. I'm glad you are making some traveling plans. We don't know yet if we will go on our delayed trip to the Keys this year. No real plans for June or for the summer.

@kareng Yeah, and it's kind of late to be making reservations. Too bad the Keys are so much further.

@LindaOHio I managed to get reservations in Ormond Beach in July. It won't be as long of a drive and still right on the beach. Only problem was we don't have 2 BR condos there so we booked 2 -1 BR's. We will see how that goes.

You are lucky that you could make plans and could go to your desired places. It is lock down here in India, therefore, we cannot plan anything, like you have done.
