Welcomed New Neighbors With Cupcakes

Noticed two doors down, new neighbors are moving in. I knew from others telling me, they are a family from New York. His job transferred him here. A warm day to be moving. I noticed the huge moving van this morning. And now boxes are being unloaded. Looks like professional movers. That is the way to go. Often times, the employer will pay for a job relocation move. I saw a lady and two children on a quilt under a tree in the yard. Looked like they were having lunch. So.... I quickly made some cupcakes, used a few sprinkles on top and walked down to meet them. Have not always been a welcome wagon neighbor.

But I thought why not. And their faces lit up when they saw someone walking in their yard with dessert. They seem very nice and I will go back on another not so busy day for them. I wished them luck.

What a nice gesture. I remember when we moved here and the daughter of the neighbor came to offer a blueberry pie. It's nice to be welcomed.

That was so thoughtful and I'm sure they enjoyed the cup cakes. I've done that over the years when new neighbors move in. But since our closest neighbors are about an eighth of a mile on each side, I usually have to drive, lol!

You are such a sweet and kind person. I am sure that made them feel more at home in their new one. I hope you are ale to make friends with them in the days ahead.

When we moved into our home 30 years ago I don't think anyone welcomed us. That is a tradition that seems to be going away like a lot of things I grew up with.

How kind of you to say Dena. I just think of others and try to treat them as I would want to be treated. Too much hate and evil in the world today. It is going away. And I don't usually do this but for some reason I did. I hope we can be friends as well.
