Two cents short of free shipping

I need to buy toilet paper. I usually get it at Target. Instead of going to the store I thought maybe to just order it from them online. They have free shipping on orders of $35+.
The toilet paper I want (Quilted Northern) is $17.49 (18-rolls). I was planning on getting two of them. If I add it up the total before tax comes to $34.98. I am two cents short of $35. That means my order is not eligible for free shipping.
Shipping is $5.99. I do not want to pay that. I have to see what else I may need and get that as well.

I usually buy a box of protein bars to round out my order. I usually order from Walmart.com.

I ended up ordering from Amazon. Not only were the items cheaper there but their minimum for free shipping is $25.

@LindaOHio looks my items are shipping early. Originally it said June 11th. Now sponges coming today and toilet paper coming tomorrow. Apparently they are shipping from different places and that’s why two separate deliveries.

Very. And they are tricky. They do not count tax into the total. With tax I am over $35.

@RebeccasFarm And now things are getting more annoying and frustrating. I found some things that I can get there as I need them. Thing is they only ship with order of $35+. So I can't put them in my cart.

First of all, Target is expencive. Second, the price for TP is redicilious. Third.... this one of the reasons why I'm more for in-person shopping.

Target sells the toilet paper I use for less than my supermarket does. That's why I buy it there usually but I do it in person. This time it happened that Amazon had it for like 50 cents less. It's not always cheaper there.
But as far as Target being expensive, I guess it depends on what you buy there. Progresso canned soup is cheaper there than in my supermarket. Same for softsoap refills, and some cereal I get, among other things.

I prefer to shop in stores as well most of the time.

I might get hand soap if they have what I use in stock.

@NJChicaa I was gonna get the softsoap refills as that's what I use. I can't add them to the cart because they only ship with orders of $35+. Same thing happened when I tried to add some other items that I need.

I am not gonna buy it if I have to pay almost $6 for shipping. I will either get another pack of toilet paper or maybe get hand soap I use. Or if they have a rack for the kitchen sink as I need to replace the one I have.

@lovebuglena
Well!!! This looks reasonable as paying extra dollars for shipping for few cents does not make sense....

@Nevena83 I decided to go to amazon and turns out what I wanted to order was cheaper there so that's where I placed the order. And I got free shipping.

I still haven't done that. I am two cents short. Tried to get other items but it says they only ship with orders of $35+. But it seems they were added to my cart anyway and looks like they can be shipped and it will be free of charge. I guess the cost of those items gets added to pre-tax total, which makes it over $35.

It really sucks when you’re a few cents away from free shipping and then you you have to spend more just to qualify for it.

I've never tried to buy something from Target on line. Target's physical store is over an hour from my house so its been some time since I set foot in there. I wish you luck

I was able to add sponges for dishwashing to the cart that got my total to $35+ but I did not place the order. Turns out both the toilet paper and the sponges were cheaper on amazon so got them there. There was also free shipping.

Just check what you have to shop so that you can add up the sum for free shipping

Glad I didn't place the order with Target. Amazon had the stuff a bit cheaper and I got free shipping too.
