Evening snack. How do you like your cottage cheese?

If you like it at all, that is. I like it with pepper and a little salt or with fruit. Growing up it was always with peaches. Later in life I saw friends having it with berries of various types and I would think they were weird but now I like it that way too. Tonight I'm having it with a few pears and a couple pineapple. Do you eat cottage cheese and if so how, and don't tell me with your mouth.

I love cottage cheese, especially with pears or with pineapple:) At times I eat it with goulash or spaghetti(meat sauce). In lasagna, it's wonderful!

I'm packing some cottage cheese for my breakfast tomorrow. I'm having it with some tomatoes, cucumber, salt & pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil. Sometimes I pack cottage cheese with pineapple or frozen berries for breakfast.

@MarshaMusselman I got the idea from this site:
Cottage cheese breakfast bowls are an inexpensive and easy way to meal prep a high protein breakfast. Try these six different flavors!

What we do is cut them in thick pieces. And make a marination of curd, turmeric, garlic paste, cumin powder, green chilli paste, lemon juice, salt, red chilli powder and some mayonnaise. Just mix this until nice and thick and mix the cubes in and let them sit for 1 hour. And you can grill this

@MarshaMusselman it’s like a texture of halumi.

You our all that stuff into cottage cheese? I'm guessing it's not the same consistency as it is sold here because there's no way we could grill ours.

My intro to cottage cheese was in high school . . . when in home ec, the recipe for lasagna had a cottage cheese filling (rather than ricotta). Later on in life Hubby showed me canned peached with cottage cheese. We don't have it a lot, but we do enjoy it!

@MarshaMusselman We never had lasagna either - that's not something my mom would ever make. In fact that recipe I got from school may have been the first time I even had lasagna at all!

I don't remember having lasagne growing up but if we did I'm sure my mom would have done the same.

Cottage cheese is not and has not ever been my thing. Nothing against it of course. I have used it in certain dishes of course. But never one to grab it and just eat it. My wife likes it very much though.

How does your wife eat it? With salt and pepper or with fruit of some type?

@porwest I'm not sure I would like it that way. I did have garlic pretzel chips recently and those were good.

@MarshaMusselman I am not exactly sure. I know she likes to put garlic powder in it a lot of the time.

I buy cottage cheese that comes in cubes I recently cooked it in spinach - a rather elaborate recipe.

That sounds elaborate. It could be done in a vegetable lasagna with spinach to. My store doesn't sell it in cubes to my knowledge and I rarely shop around.

I like cottage cheese with fruit. Actually I had some this morning with peaches. Sprinkling with pepper and salt sounds interesting.
