Back To Normal? or is this still the new normal

Happy Friday Everyone! thank goodness it's a bit cooler this morning even though it's cloudy. I guess if the sun was shining it would be hotter. Looks like pretty nice weather for the weekend. My daughter gets off early on Fridays for the summer so she'll be done by 2pm. It's nice for her and it gives her a longer weekend. What might she be doing with her extra time this afternoon? Well she's going out to pick up her prescription and also pick up a few things from the supermarket. She really knows how to have a good time We have our usual pick-up tomorrow at Sams Club for the bulk of our groceries. I've noticed that not only are the prices on their meat less expensive than the supermarket but also the quality is so much better. So, it's worth buying a big package of meat and then dividing it up into portion sizes and freezing. With the soaring prices on everything lately it pays to save wherever you can . It should be interesting when we go to Sams Club tomorrow to see how many people are wearing masks. The mandate has been lifted but I'm not sure if it's just for those who have been fully vaccinated. Vaccinated or not I will continue to wear my mask for awhile longer. It just seems too risky to be thinking that the virus isn't still lurking out there. Do you still have to wear masks in your area? Are things opening up and getting back to normal?

I think it will be hard to go out in public and not social distance for awhile. It's become second nature now.

Its a great day to be alive and a shopaholic here in Ontario. We entered into Phase 1 of the reopening plan and non essential shops were allowed to reopen at 15% capacity. I bought some sheets and towels, I prefer to buy these in person so that I can feel the fabric and see the actual colours. I bought my hubs a new golf shirt as I was headed to my favorite lady's shop and knew that I was getting something new to wear when we go out golfing on Sunday. When I was shopping of course there are change rooms. There were only 2 staff on to accomodate probably 6 shoppers. They have to wipe down the entire change room in between customers. And they have to have 1 staff in that area because the shoppers remove their masks when they are in that room. I didn't but I heard a staff member reminding another lady that she had to wear her mask even in that area of the store. The items that have been tired on and not selected as something that the customer wanted to buy are kept on a separate rack. I do not know what they will be doing with those, probably steam cleaning them. I cannot imagine the staff doing this for minimum wage, they should at least have a tip option at the check outs since they really do cater to the customer.

Sounds like you took advantage of those shops opening back up. I agree that when it comes to sheets and towels like to feel the weight of the towel and judge how absorbent it might be. As for sheets I also like to actually see the colors in person. I love sheets!! Seems as if they have everything well organized as far as sanitizing the areas in and around the changing rooms and it will definitely keep things safer. I do agree that doing all this extra work a tip jar or option would be a good idea.

For those fully vaccinated they don't need to wear a mask but the rest need to. I'm sure that many that wear masks are vaccinated and I wouldn't be surprised if those not vaccinated don't wear them. I wear one eight hours while working so I don't plan on wearing one when shopping. Some places still have the signs up to wear them though.

I'm sure there will be those who haven't been vaccinated that won't wear a mask and vice versa.

Yes, we do still have to wear masks here. For the moment, it's definitely safer. My husband, our kids and I wear masks when in stores and such. I feel like it might be some time before we don't need masks.

We still have to wear them yes and they give us very confusing news and information all the time and so for now we are reluctant to not wear them outside all the time vaccines or not.

i was reading a very interesting study about a week ago. A group of doctors studied the "impact" of this flu season in the US. They found this to one of the worst flu in terms of impact (health) but one of the lowest spread in many years. Masks may be the new normal! picking up groceries may be the new normal.

Those who have been vaccinated are proudly not wearing masks anymore. I even had a lady tell me she was fully vaccinated which is why she wasn't wearing her mask. There are still places where we need to wear masks. The YW CA is one of those places. The mask notice is up at the Post Office too, and stores still have the signs.

I often buy a large amount, separate and freeze it for later. Most places are not required for masks here. The doctors offices are.

Everything is slowly returning to normal here, but masks are still worn indoors.Although I'm listening to announcements that the virus will return in the fall.
