I was able to get everything I wanted from the Dollar General, except for one thing.
That is okay.
Hubby and I will go to a place where I can get that and a few other things for us to have on hand.
Before my daughter gets here I am going to make some more granola. Hubby eats it almost every day and my daughter and grandkids love it. I will make an extra batch with extra fruit and no nuts, though as one grand daughter does not like nuts.
So I guess I am out the door again. It is Saturday. A day for chores and errands.

Healthy depends on how much and what kind of sweetener and oil. Hubby loves it and it is good for him.

Seems like it. Got mine done, too. Most of them.

Will you have nuts to add to the granola for the ones who do like them? Walnuts or almonds?

I will make a small batch without nuts for the one who does not like nuts. I use whatever nuts I have on hand. I mostly have walnuts though. I remember walnuts used to burn my mouth and that may be why she does not like them.

I hate it when I forget just that one thing. You make granola in a low oven. Start with whole oats, and add other seeds, nuts and grains. I often put coconut in. Lots of recipes online. When you have your oats and things combined, add oil (vegetable oil or coconut oil or whatever you have) and sweetener-honey, molasses, maple syrup, brown sugar, whatever. Toast it, stirring every 20 minutes. When it is golden and crunchy, add dried fruit and then scoop it into a sealed container. If you put the fruit in while it toasts it gets overdone and bitter.

It is a cereal that can be eaten hot or cold. It has a base of oatmeal, plus seeds, nuts and other add ins. Stir oil and sweetener into it, toast it is a low oven until brown. Serve it with milk either hot or cold.

Hope you have/had a great visit with your daughter and grandkids. I didn't like nuts as a child either and still don't eat them a lot.

Walnuts used to burn my mouth. I understand where she is coming from.
