Strawberries for Dessert

Picked up a few strawberries at the store over the weekend. They looked very fresh.
You are always taking a chance on store bought berries of any kind.
But these were very good. Fresh and sweet. I did not add anything to these. Diced them up and they are so good. I called it my dessert.
Enjoy your evening everyone. Going to the deck to get in some relaxing birdwatching. Dinner time for the babies.

@CarolDM That is about the last of them here. We seen one guy taking his strawberry sign down today as we went to the auction.

I have gotten some at the store that were as good or better than any I have had fresh..I think it has to do with the brand and how quickly they can get them in the store and on the shelves. I bought some fresh ones last week, and they were wayy over priced, good but not 3.50 a pint good!

I don't buy fruits or veggies frsh very often, when I do, I rinse them under cold water before I do anything. Even if it comes in a container. I even got my husband in the habit, too.

@CarolDM Yes, I know. That stuff was once in the ground or on the ground or near the ground or possibly sprayed with something. You just don't know.

My husband always douses the strawberries with a bunch of sugar. Too sweet for me.

I love fresh fruit, especially berries. I just wash them and eat them plain, so good.
