My red basil is huge and beautiful. I am going to pick it and dry it. I will infuse it into red wine vinegar to use this winter. It will be fun to get back to doing some of those sorts of things.

Enjoy your basil, I don't like it myself.

It becomes a seasoning. I know some people will add a splash of vinegar to a drink, but we put it on salad, or pour a bit of vinegar in a soup or sauce.

I'll have to look up red basil, that would be fun for me to try to grow. I'm impressed, I don't know anyone who makes their own vinegar.

I just infuse it into already made vinegar. Then you can make salad dressing with it, or we like to add it into sauces and soups and stews.

@rebelann Yes, you could do it. I have read instructions for making my own vinegar from scratch but have not tried it yet.

I've never tried infusing anything like that. I should look it up and see what I'd need to do. I hope you have a good day.

I hear you can make pesto and freeze it as well. I may look into that.
