Poor planning

We got notice a couple of weeks ago that our electric company is doing some routine maintenance overnight tonight. There will be no electricity tonight from 10 pm. for about six hours if all goes well. No electricity means no air conditioning, not even our fans will work. Today the temperature will be about 100 F or almost 38 degrees Celsius. I am dreading this a lot. I hope it goes quickly.

Oh wow that is not good news. At least you had a warning.

@GardenGerty That is how the weather goes often. We never know most of the time.

Oh, I'm sorry you won't have electricity, but maybe it's a good thing it's going to stop at night.

Yes it is better that they would do this overnight.

At least there's a warning for that. I might not be that lucky here. If it's going off, it would just go off.

There are times when they are not repairing and such that it will just go off, and luckily not for so long.

There's no good time to shut off the power to perform repairs/maintiance. However, I can understand the logic. Those hours are when the energy concumption is typically lower. so that's the best time to attempt this.

Yes, it is the best of a bad choice. Earlier in the season would perhaps have been better. They have actually rescheduled for two weeks from now.

I wonder if it would be any better if they pulled this stunt when the temps are around 17f. No heat is no fun either but you could always use a wood burning device to help warm up if it were cold.

That is sad . It's not easy to survive in such a high temperature.

Hopefully you will be asleep with your windows open and it will not be that bad.

I sure wish you the best of luck to get through it all. I hope the electricity does not stay out long,
