You've got to be carefully taught!

You've got to be taught before it's too late, Before you are six or seven or eight, To hate all the people your relatives hate, You've got to be carefully taught! ~~From the musical South Pacific~~ When I was younger I had such high hopes that in the future racism would be a distant memory of the past, but it still exists. Races are hating other races right now, no one is exempt. I guess my hopes were futile because there's a darkness in the human race that will never change, that has no desire to change, but will continue to despise others out of hate and ignorance. My thought is that there is not as much racism as is being presented to us. I think most people accept eachother for who they are.

I didn't think of that, but you are right. Everyone in my apartment building is a different race and we get along great and everyone is really nice to each other. It's the media monster trying to stir things up.

@RebeccasFarm I'm trying to avoid the news right now, because it just increases my anxiety and it doesn't do one good thing to hear it.

I think there will always be racism in some form, since people fear the unknown..I do think in most cases it has lessened though. The stuff on TV is not that typical really..at least where I live the races all cohabitate nicely.

That's what @RebeccasFarm said also. I started thinking that it's not prevalent where I live either. This is really hopeful.

I agree. We are all people the same underneath, and God gave us beautiful skin colors. We should respect each other and celebrate our differences.

@jstory07 I've thought about a lot and I've decided it's either ignorance as if believed stereotypes or it makes people feel superior.

I have the feeling that it is becoming worse than in the past.

I think so too. It's the 21st century--this shouldn't even be an issue right now.

@misunderstood_zombie They pretend that there is no more racism, but I see that this statement is not at all true.

I think most people are good hearted and would help or treat someone fairly no matter the race. In my view the liberal media is trying to create division among the races. And liberal politicians are exploiting race relations for their own ends (reelection). One can never heal if old past wounds are continually used and brought up to punish people for something that they never did. Sure their is racism but not every viewpoint or action by someone is racist. We are not a perfect nation for sure but the only perfect person is God. And he would teach tolerance for each other not hate and violence.

I agree that the past is over, so we can continue forward and tolerance, respect and kindness should be ever present in our lives.

@misunderstood_zombie racism it exist in our mind and pollutes it; it will cease to exist until humans go extinct. That's why we are called social animals. Is it not right?

I guess so. We are not called social humans.
