When we stayed with our son and his wife in Ireland, we joined his church choir for the period we were there. He was preparing the choir for a Grade 2 Church Choir so we sat for the examination too, along with the rest of the members. I’m proud to say we are now qualified Grade 2 choristers. Next stop Vienna Boys’ Choir!
One of the warm-ups we did was a tongue twister. You started on a highish note then, as you sang, dropped down note by note for an octave (eight notes).
The words were:
If you want to toboggan
First buy a toboggan
But don’t buy too big a toboggan
Too big a toboggan
Is not the toboggan
To buy to begin to toboggan
When we’d run through this a few times, I turned to the lady next to me and said ‘I’m having trouble remembering the words’. Her reply was ‘I do too. I just say ‘toboggan, toboggan’ all the way. Nobody knows the difference’. It sounded a very Irish reply to me.
The photo is of the choir. Our son is on the right. I’m there but don’t look for long hair.

@snowy22315 Yes, that's me. They were a lovely bunch of people. The one that just said 'toboggan toboggan' is third lady from the left, back row.

@JudyEv It's challenging for me to memorize it and say it slowly. Saying it fast would be a bouncer.

Are you having trouble with the photo?
That's a funny story! I can totally understand not being able to remember the lines, though.

@JudyEv You're welcome. I've seen that happen with several discussions lately. (I thought it was something with my computer when it happened to me but now that I've seen others having that type problem I know it's a glitch, sometimes, with myLot.
And you're very easy to pick out in the photo. You look lovely.

I found you. At first, I was looking for long hair. Then I looked for your smile.
Nice tongue twister.

Thanks. Our son had to be pretty good to get the pair of us up to par!
He would have us practising our parts in the car.

Very nice photo. I was in the choir in elementary school. I don't know how as I have a terrible voice now.
