Thunderstorms Today

Happy Thursday Everyone! it's not quite as hot as it has been the last few days but it's still hot. Rain is coming and I just got an alert on my phone about the possibility of severe thunderstorms.
Aside from the weather.....it's July!!
We're heading into a big holiday weekend here in the US. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and everyone can enjoy the celebrations.
My daughter is only working a half day today and gets off at noon. Her company is closing early, giving them a long weekend to enjoy. So, she'll be off until next Tuesday. Needless to say, she's happy as a lark.
Tomorrow she's going to take a ride with her sister to drop off my grandson who will be staying with his dads brother and family for the next 9 days. They have a nice house at Lake George so my grandson is really excited about his vacation. He went with them last year and had a great time.
Don't have any exciting plans myself but I'm sure we'll barbecue.
We need a few things from the supermarket especially corn on the cob. What's a barbecue without corn on the cob!!
I'm thinking of making some homemade potato salad. I use my moms recipe and she made the best potato salad. Mine doesn't measure up to hers but it comes close.
So, here we are at Thursday and I'm already feeling like it's Friday. Guess my head is all mixed up (more so than usual 
)

I'm hoping to be able to get some fresh corn at our local farm otherwise it will have to be from the supermarket.

It’s so nice to be able to celebrate our country’s birthday.
I know that you and your family will have a wonderful time together.
It’s a nice day here so far we took a really long walk in the park that runs along the river. There were so many people and it was nice to see everyone wearing their red and white.
I believe that my computer has given up the ghost so I am using my phone. If it doesn’t come back on I’ll need to replace it.

@Marilynda1225 Thanks. My hubs suggested it could just be downloading a large file for the firewall, but he says that because he doesn’t want to think of replacing it. This one is 7 years old which is good for a laptop.

Happy Canada Day!!
I'm glad you got out and enjoyed a nice walk in the park. We have a nearby park that has a nice big stream (I call it a stream cause it's too small to be a river but too big to be a brook).
Hope your computer works and you don't have to replace it.

I love potato salad, it's an all time summer favorite:) Jay bought corn on the cob for the weekend, yummy! Our weather is cooler in our part of Michigan, the mid-sixties. Yesterday we got more rain, which was great.
South of us, four tornadoes touched down on Monday!

I love potato salad too! I'm hoping I can get some fresh corn at our local farm but I don't know if it's in season yet. Otherwise it will have to be from the supermarket.
I'm so afraid of tornadoes and even though I don't live in an area where tornadoes are prevalent we have gotten warnings these past few years.

@Marilynda1225 We had five tornadoes rip through last summer, but not one home or life was lost! They came through the wooded areas, headed straight towards Lake Huron.

My grandson is lucky to be going on vacation. He's also lucky is uncle owns a nice place at Lake George.
Yes, I'll be home with the pups while my girls take my grandson to his uncles.

I haven't made it in awhile either but I have all these potatoes so I figured it would be a good way to use them. Besides, it isn't a barbecue without potato salad

It's gotten cooler here too but that's because the rain came. We can use the rain but not the storms they're predicting for later on

We had thunderstorms here two days in a row. Rain today but no storm at least.
That's awesome your daughter gets to have a little extra time off!
Lake George is beautiful. We went there with my parents every year for vacation. About 5 or more years ago my parents bought a little place up there. My husband and I stayed there on our honeymoon.
I'm making a dessert and macaroni salad for our cook out here on Saturday.

Hope the rain brings down the heat. And really hope and pray that the weather is good for people to enjoy their 4th July plans. It should not be a spoilsport. Barbecue sounds like a good plan there. Enjoy
