Discharged Home on Hospice

I have talked lately about Dustin's godfather and his bone cancer. He has been discharged from the hospital and is home and on hospice care.
Nothing else can be done. Trying to keep him comfortable. He is glad to be home.
I had another face time call with him. He is very frail and weak. But he is eating his wife's home cooked meals, as much as he can. He still has his wits about him. He shared a joke with me.
This has all happened so fast. Was just diagnosed in April. Another reminder in life that we never know what the next moment holds.
A happy time on vacation in this photo. Thoughts are also with his wife, my friend.

@NJChicaa I agree. It's those lengthy experiences that hit the hardest!

@kobesbuddy They all hit you hard no matter how long. A difficult situation for he and his wife.

What a beautiful couple, at that time in the best of health:( They shouldn't have to face, this terrible experience!

@CarolDM I wish you could go visit them for an afternoon. This would be so comforting, for all three of you!

i am so sorry. That, hospice is what my wonderful (saintly) wife does. She tells many stories of how hospice can comfort and support both people.
so sorry.

Cancer is not a fun thing. While many survive, some will never. It's a sad scarry reality. As long as he's happy and comfortable, that's the best thing possible.
