Discharged Home on Hospice

I have talked lately about Dustin's godfather and his bone cancer. He has been discharged from the hospital and is home and on hospice care. Nothing else can be done. Trying to keep him comfortable. He is glad to be home. I had another face time call with him. He is very frail and weak. But he is eating his wife's home cooked meals, as much as he can. He still has his wits about him. He shared a joke with me. This has all happened so fast. Was just diagnosed in April. Another reminder in life that we never know what the next moment holds. A happy time on vacation in this photo. Thoughts are also with his wife, my friend.

Bless him throughout his journey and his wife as this is happening so quickly she must feel like it isn’t even real.

Sometimes I think that it is better when things like this just progress quickly.

@NJChicaa I agree. It's those lengthy experiences that hit the hardest!

This is so sad, but at least he is at home now, it is horrible to spend your final days in a hospital bed. That was a happy photo.

@LadyDuck Yes, she is able to cook for him. I hope his appetite continues for awhile. He was eating spaghetti yesterday when I called.

I always think of your wife when I hear the word hospice. It takes a special kind of person to do her job. Thank her for me.

Life is uncertain who knows what happens next in life. So we should live life fully. Today one of my relative passed away. He was just 50 years old and was on dialysis as his kidneys failed.

You should have cheered him up. Bone cancer can be quite painful too. Tough also to contain it. He is not short of love and that helps.

He did smile several times, and his wife said he talked about the good times later.

Cancer is not a fun thing. While many survive, some will never. It's a sad scarry reality. As long as he's happy and comfortable, that's the best thing possible.
