Even on July 4th, a holiday Traffic is Horrible near Washington DC

well, just north of DC.
Traffic jam this morning.
I thought I would share the video so you can see why sometimes I think we (Washington DC) have the worst traffic.

@DocAndersen We do not have many Italian tourists, Switzerland is too expensive for them. We have MANY Swiss who go to Italy for the beaches, particularly Swiss Germans who waited up to 50 minutes to go under the Gotthard tunnel and then another hour to cross the border.

Rocky Roscoe Rascal is a joyous delight who would never touch food that wasn't his. luckily without fingers it is impossible for him to touch any food!

Maybe you just need to unpack. TLC would be much happier. Freckles knew what my bags coming out meant.
As for DC’s traffic, a friend of mine who went to college at American University said that the traffic circles cause all the traffic jams for defense purposes: the Russians could never get through the traffic to get to the White House.

@ramapo17 we had a dog when we lived in Indiana who used to try to get in my suitcase (I traveled a lot back then) all the time!

We gave up going out on holidays many years ago as it is not my idea of fun sitting in traffic for 2-3 hours getting somewhere & the same or worse coming home.

We have gone through the DC area many times on our way back and forth to Florida and New Jersey, (our original homes). The last few times were a piece of cake as there was traffic but it was not unbearable and we went right through. Now we don't get up tight when we go through there any more. A lot of road work has been done there making it easier.

I cannot watch the video because during this time we are in mourning for our Temples that were destroyed and will be able to watch videos on the 20th of this month. I believe you when you tell us how bad your traffic is. I can imagine because DC is where the White House is and I am sure so many drive over there a lot.
