The winds they are a-comming

Yes, the winds are on our way here in my little part of Florida. Thank goodness the hurricane has been lowered to a tropical storm. At this point in time they are expecting about 60 mile a hour winds. Hubby has been running around our yard trying to store any possible "missals" they may take off and fly causing damage to our or anyone else's property. So we are "Hunkering down" and preparing to face the beast. I am so glad it is not a hurricane. Hope everyone out there is happy and healthy.

@HazySue I'm glad it's been lowered to a tropical storm but I do still hope you will all be alright!

@VivaLaDani13 I wasn't thrilled about the damage. Onw of our neighbors left all their outdoor furniture out and they became destroyer missiles. One other of our neighbors also ended up with a piece of it flying into their home.

We were fine. Besides the supplies we might need if power left us we have a battery operated tv.

For some reason our winds here seemed to tear through the yards and send things through the air.

We had a big one from someone else yard. It flew through one of screen room screen room screens and then through the sliding glass door leading to it. But, we are ok and they can be fixed.

That photo reminded me of my life in Ireland ages ago. I used to hold tightly the hand of my husband so I didn’t fly when there was suddenly a gale when going home from my work. That was a happy life though.

What a nice way to remember a gale. When you think of a storm you can remember how safe you felt with the hubby.

Stay safe. Fortunately it seems to be moving along fairly quickly. You will definitely get some heavy rain.

I was glad to see the speed that it was moving. At least it didn't stay with us as long as it could have.

Sometimes we get winds like that but here those winds are loaded with sand. dust and teeny bugs etc.

Thanks. We did fine. The only scare we really had was something from someone elses yard through a screen and a sliding glass door.

I am glad you didn't have the stronger wind. It's not fun to have something from some one elses yard fly through a sliding glass door and a big screen.

During hurricane season we make sure we have plenty of unperishable food. We also have lanterns, batteries and everything else we might need.
