A question about Covid 19

People who have had it and recovered, do they need to get the Vaccine? About a month ago, I read online a post from Senator , Dr Rand Paul saying he had had Covid and now was better. He said he was not getting the Vaccine because for those who have had it and recovered they have built up an immunity to the disease and don't need the Vaccine.

Those that were infected by Covid still need a vaccination because the natural immunity may not be sufficient to prevent reinfection. The vaccine won't prevent reinfection. Masks and distancing won't prevent reinfection. Don't you see a pattern? Rand is right.

I see a definite pattern.

Nothing can 100% prevent infection or reinfection, but there are steps we can take to minimize the risk of reinfection. Vaccination is one of those steps.

I don't know if people really build up immunity once they recover from it. But as far as I know our government says.....every one has to be vaccinated. No matter what

Because you don't build up an immunity to Covid. The vaccines we have now are only 80% effective against the new Delta variant. You can get Covid even if you've been vaccinated.

The truth is no one knows for sure it if you knew people would be shooting at you wouldn’t you wear a bullet proof vest? Better too much protection than not enough when it comes to Covid!! In my opinion

Some people have caught it twice so that is not a sure thing.

Yes, I've had Covid twice now, once in March 2020 and again in March of this year. That is proof right there that our natural immunity wears off over time. People who have had Covid still need to get the vaccine. I have recently completed my vaccination. And in the future, when booster shots are available, I will get those as well.

There are many theories and I don't think anyone knows what's best.

I believe they only have limited immunity from having had the virus...I know Jeff Moffitt on here got Covid twice. Rand Paul is kind of a quack if you ask me.

They develop immunity that's right...but still getting vaccinated is good..

That makes sense to me, but there are so many opinions.

You do what you feel you need to do. I've been vaccinated. That won't stop me from getting Covid. It might keep me from dying if I do get it, though. You can't build up an immunity to Covid.

I had it, was only sick 2 days, tired, head ache, kind of like a cold. Really was not a big issue for me. My kids have been exposed to it, most only had a head ache for a day, if symptoms at all. My mother, in a different state, is a diabetic and has high blood pressure, she was very sick for about 2 weeks. I think it just depends on your health, unfortunately we are not being allowed to actually make our own choices, we are simply being given a one size fit all philosophy.

Everyone needs to be vaccinated unless they want to get Covid and suffer long term illnesses or die. Try holding your breath for three minutes. That’s how it feels said my doctor.

Well everyone seems to have different feelings about the virus and the vaccine. It seems the "experts" don't know either. In my opinion I am not getting it and will take my chances, so far I have not wore a mask and have not gotten the virus so why take a chance on a vaccine that has no long term testing and doesn't seem to be 100% effective anyway.

The senator is entitled for his decision. And not everyone is like him. Everyone has the right to do what's best as far as health is concerned.

Yes, those who recovered need to get the Vaccine, here it is only one shot instead of two for those who recovered. You do not build up the immunity without the vaccine.

Yes, you still need the vaccine. Check with your doctor to find out when you can/should get it.
