A cardiac team

Due to all that is going on in my life, I had a hard time sleeping. My niece. . . my sister's oldest daughter accidentally called me a little after 11 pm while she was getting gas. She is doing the errand running and checking up on my sister, who is in the hospital. The hospital does not know any more than her regular doctor about what is causing her problems. They do have her on a heart monitor. It is serious enough that a cardiac team will be checking on my sister today and trying to come up with some solutions or answers at any rate. Keep praying and thinking good thoughts.

You know it's serious when they bring in a team on the weekend.

Yes, it has gotten progressively worse for at least a month, maybe more.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Hopefully those doctors will find an answer that will help your sister.

The answer will likely be a pacemaker, which she seems very positive about.

On the phone she sounds encouraged. I think she probably should have seen her heart doctor a month ago.

Could it be a reaction to the two antibiotics she was on for the stomach thing?

Likely it is old age, poor lifestyle most of her life. The antibiotics occurred to me because she has said she felt bad ever since taking them. It also occurred to me that it was the result of having been sedated for the procedures that showed the need for the antibiotics. She sometimes has a hard time "waking up" from sedation. This morning I wondered if it was a reaction to her covid shots. I think all these things are adding up. She is nine years older than I am.

@GardenGerty Another thing to add: the weather. I know it affects me adversely at times.

Her heart rate has been slowing down for a month or so. I think she is glad to be in the hospital. I told @BarBaraPrz my thoughts on what is causing all of this. Basically I feel like several things have just finally caught up to her. She seems to be looking forward to possibly having a pacemaker.

I am pretty certain from what she says that they will be giving her a pacemaker, or a pacemaker/defibrillator. She seems very positive about it.

The team recommends a pacemaker, which makes sense. Her own cardiologist will need to approve it.

The team recommends a pacemaker. Her personal heart doctor will see her today and tell her how he will proceed. She seems very upbeat on the phone and we will visit her this afternoon.
