Good morning, good evening everybody on mylot. It is 8.50 in the morning of Monday, 12th July. It is raining continuously for past several days. Weather is therefore cooler. Statewide curfew imposed by our state on 9th of May this year is being extended week after week. The present extension which was supposed to end today has been further extended till 19th of this month giving further relaxation in curfew rules. Small gatherings including marriages have now been allowed up to 50 % of the hall capacity. The state continue to report new covid cases and deaths. It reported 131 cases and 2 deaths due to covid yesterday. Djokovik continued to show his might in world tennis. He yesterday overcame spirited challenge from Berrettini to emerge victorious at Wimbledon despite loosing the opening set winning next three with ease. Wish you all a very nice week ahead.

There are 131 new cases and 2 deaths reported yesterday. That is too much for the small state like ours.

@Butterfingers Yes they have got to be careful. This virus is very much there and could bounce back with greater force.

I think that situations are improving world wide. Somehow we could be release from the covid prison by the end of the year.

There is a growing concern about Delta plus variant which is spreading its wings in Asia and elsewhere. This virus is far from over.

We are living life in the new normal here. I still wear a mask in public even though they are not mandated unless you haven’t had the vaccine.

I think it is necessary. New cases are still detected. We never know when this virus would mutate itself into a dangerous form.

@DianneN There is one more variant in that series, Delta plus which is more dangerous than delta variant. While we have delta variant in Our state, we don't have delta plus but our neighbouring state has lot of them. Government is cautious about it. The extension of curfew or lockdown is because of that.

@msdivkar The Delta virus is in our country, but not in our state. The vaccines are good to protect us. However, we are extremely careful.

We're still in lockdown here. I did hear news on plan to reopen some sectors, but we shall see about that. The cases are still high and we have plenty of idiots around.

Do you have delta plus variant cases in your area?

It's essential for the people. In Delhi at few of the places specially in the markets lockdown has been done again as the people there are not following the guidelines and taking risks.

People don't bother and that is dangerous. Some restrictions in movement of people therefore becomes necessary.

People are free here also but some businesses enterprises are closed. That restricts the movement of the people.

I was hoping that with the vaccine life could go back to maybe a new normal but now with Delta we might be going backwards instead of ahead.

We didn't watch the tennis but kept an eye on the scores. Djokovich is certainly talented but I find him quite arrogant.

Yes he is. He was so upset when he found that his opponent is having more support. It was just natural for relatively new player to garner public support.

At least there is some control over movement of the people which is required to control the spread of virus although bad for small businesses.

@Nakitakona Curfew has to be imposed because people do not follow health protocols and government finds it difficult to strictly monitor it.
