Funny sight down at the lake

So, I was swimming near the end of the pier since the beach was pretty full. It is a good 25 to 50 yards out into the water..Make it 30...anyway, while I was swimming a hornet swooped down and landed on the water. I thought what the heck? Why way out here? I guess he was just passing through and decided he was thirsty. You see some funny sites out on the water sometimes.

HAHAHA, I would say he was an unwelcome visitor! He had the whole lake, he didn't have to drink near me.

Maybe he felt that if he drank too much, you would be nearby to save him . . . you know - don't drink and fly

@cacay1 I have seen snakes in the water from time to time, but I don't think they are the poisonous kind. I think the only poisonous water snake is a water moccasin, and we don't have those around here to the best of my knowledge.

Never have seen it before. I have also seen snakes swimming and once a turtle. We saw an otter dive in once while on a boat
