Why I thought the tree looked like a Thelwell pony

We’ve been away and without internet or phone coverage but now we’re home for a few days. We had intended to stay away for a few weeks but the weather isn’t very nice at the moment so we’ve come home until Wednesday. As many readers didn’t seem to be familiar with Norman Thelwell and his cartoons of ponies, I thought I’d put up a photo I used a while back where I likened a tree to a Thelwell pony. With the two one above the other, I’m sure you’ll agree that there are similarities between the two. I know they are not in the same position but the shaggy coat and ‘fatness’ can be seen. Hopefully, while we’re home we’ll be able to catch some of the Olympic events too.

This drawing is the closest I could find to the tree. But there is certainly a likeness. I'm glad you can see it.

@JudyEv I'm not sure if anyone but horse people would see the reference here either, but then very many of my friends are horse people. I need to get my blondest Norwegian fjord to do a Thelwell pose. He should be quite good at it, despite not having the right mane.

It's winter so we have to expect a fair amount of rain - and we need the rain too to fill dams and grow crops.

I have several books of Thelwell cartoons, I love his pony ones, I used to laugh and laugh over those. But I think they perhaps are not that funny if you are not at all familiar with horses and horsey people!
