It's a peachy pie kind of day

I bought eighteen pounds of little peaches from a local farmer. That sounds like a bunch but they go fast. Many are not that ripe- think peachy rocks. Crunch. Crunch.
Some were good enough that I heard my husband when he said: "You could make a peach pie!" I sure could and I sure did. I even went a little nuts and sprinkled sugar on the outside.
Fun times for a smoky sky day.

That sounds SO good.
When I go nuts, I use colored sugar sprinkles on top. I'll take the last of the dough and cut out the shape of whatever is in the pie and color it with sprinkles.
What a fun day for you.

Ugh. I hope they are competent and won't just install the same thing that keeps falling out.
Unripe peaches work well for pies.
I don't like peeling peaches.
We canned a million quarts one year and I'll never do that again.
Somehow fruit flies showed up and it was awful. Never again.

@Vikingswest1 I am worried about that glass staying in. Its going to be a good sized piece up on the side of that porch. The house was built in 1900 but somebody worked on it around 1940. I'm guessing the front and back porch were added on in that 1940 time frame. Still old but not so old.

@Vikingswest I needed to play with dough today. My west side house has a glass enclosed front porch. The sides keep falling out. I thought I'd found a glass company who understand what the old dame house needed. Nope. Instead of little frames they are slapping a sheet of glass on the sides. They say the porch is coming away from the main house. Last time I stepped on that porch floor it felt solid as a rock. So I peeled peaches and played with dough.

I lovve peaches..one of my favorite fruits. As long as they are ripe enough that is..a hard peach isn't too much fun, but they will ripen eventually.

I like peaches any way I can get them. (Yes, even a little green.) When we can, I buy bushel baskets of them and eat almost nothing else until they're all gone. YUM! (Peaches are my favorite fruit.)
