Home Quarantine for 14 Days: Can you believe it?

I am sure some of you are wondering about me. It is so sudden that I was not that active here. The main reason is that I am still feeling dizzy at random, but a bit better now. It took more than a month to recover though. There are so many things going on and I personally cannot control them, such as being quarantined with the immediate family for 14 days. We still have 4 days left to be free going out. The bottom line is that it is not our fault why we are in this situation now. The culprit is the hospital facility that discharged my sister-in-law without waiting for the result of the swab test and claiming that she was infected with this killer virus the following day. If you want to ask more questions about this negligence, I am willing to address your concern. How are you all lately? Image Credit: encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com

Hi there! So nice to see you around again. I hope everything is good over there. I understand what you`re going through because of someones fault Did they not let you have all tested?

That's a big question. They did not do swab testing for all of us here in the house, which makes me feel so weird having this home quarantine. I even asked the health center representative to do swab testing again for my sister-in-law and he declined the suggestion. According to him, even if it turned out to be negative, they still go for the positive result as claimed.

@Shavkat Gosh! Why do they let everyone suffer when others might not got the virus. Oh well. I think they don`t trust too much their own swab test result and let everyone just be in quarantined

@m_audrey6788 The problem is, if one person in the household tests positive, then even if others test negative, they could still have the virus on their clothes or body. You can't trust that they don't. And where would the other people living in the house go if they do test negative. You can't ask the one person who tested positive to sit out beside the road for 14 days... They might get wet since it is the rainy season there. And them using the bathroom beside the road might be illegal in the Philippines.

Ah, good to see you back! Still dizzy - woh - did they ever figure out what exactly is causing that? Sorry your household is having to go through quarantine - at least you will finally be out next week. Did your sister in law actually get sick during this time?

@Shavkat Ah, well that's good then. And I hope everyone else turned out to be just fine too, though I know you were inconvenienced. I am thinking I need glasses soon too.

She is fine. Perhaps she is asymptomatic. I think I need to have eyeglasses now. It means I am getting older.

It is our last day of quarantine. I hope you are fine now. In my family, no signs and symptoms appeared. Is it a home quarantine?

Firstly, glad to have you back here!!! I do understand, and kind of annoyed about the negligence, but you know I have heard so many of these type cases around that I think, it's worthless to have a debate on this...

I see now and that alarmed me for a while. I think all of you there are fine. I guess it is just okay to quarantine to ensure that the virus will not be able to spread further. One of the fast spreaders are those that are asymptomatic people since they're not aware they carry the virus.

@Shavkat Maybe that maybe too. I think Hospital is a place that is really more prone to having the virus and visiting their place might just get the virus since they have a lot of patients having the virus.

I am not sure about this concern. My family and I were thinking it is a false positive. In addition, it could be a protocol that it needs to be done because of being admitted to the hospital facility.

@rsa101 It is fine with me. But then, the local barangay officials and the city's health center visited us only once. We need to ask close friends and relatives to buy something for us during the home quarantine period. They just abandoned us.

@Shavkat When you failed to post discussions, I knew right away something was wrong. It was out of character that you skip mylot. So I prayed for you, that you'd get out of whatever predicament was holding you up. Didn't expect the dreaded disease catching you up there in the mountains. But this virus has its way of infiltrating our lives when we least expect it. Am sure you and your family have exercised necessary caution knowing the gravity of the pandemia. Just the same, express gratitude to our Almighty that nothing worse happened. There are mylotters who never came back. I believe your angel is hovering over you. Here's to you, kiddo! A bright day today!

Very sorry to hear that...home quarantine is certainly no fun. I hope everyone is okay! Here the hospitals are letting the asymptomatic and those with mild symptoms to undergo home quarantine. Only people with serious symptoms would be warded.

The bright side is that we were not moved to a hospital facility. It will be tougher than being here in the house.

*sigh* Yes, I guess it wouldn't have been reasonable to ask your sister-in-law to sit out by the side of the road until the results of the test came back... The hospital should have held her until the test came back negative. (I guess you could have camped outside in the yard until the results came back... but it's also the rainy season there... I wouldn't want you to get your hair wet waiting outside. ) Pretty and I are doing fine. (I just didn't feel like being on myLot the last couple of days... I still don't feel like being here but I wanted to see how you were doing.)

The situation is like this. My sister-in-law gave birth to twins. Her hubby, my younger brother is negative when they were admitted to the hospital. My sister-in-law had the procedure after giving birth, which is weird. I am still feeling dizzy. I suspected that I need to wear eyeglasses now. Getting old now.
