New Surroundings

Yesterday I found something I'd been sort of thinking about for the past while. Sitting at goodwill just waiting to be found was a black tv stand. The back was already cut out for electric cords and at $10 I could not pass it up. True it wasn't exactly what I wanted but it was close enough and at a price I could get on board with.
My room is still in the process of being completely ready. I'm not sure what to do with some things / holding on to things that I should just chuck. Some of this includes old crochet projects I'll never use or wear.
My TV is now at an angle where I am at eye level when laying down instead of looking up.

There is a fly in my room and he's driving me crazy. I keep going out and leaving my door open hoping it will leave but when I come back, there he is...

@ScribbledAdNauseum I left my bedroom door open... Pretty started cussing at the fly a few minutes ago. I should get up and close my door again.

It has been going pretty well. No complaints.. I need to wash my weighted blanket..but for now, am just turning it over..Apparently they take forever to dry, and I will have to use a laundymat because it weighs 20 pounds. It would probably fit in a regular washer but they don't recommend it if it is more than 4 pounds or so. I am not gonna wash it in the bathtub.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Amazon..However right now, I am kind of using it like a mattress pad, because honestly, I need a new mattress. Not sure how long until that will happen. There is an interesting place though called Mattress by Appointment. You meet with them pick out one, and it is supposedly half the price of stores namebrand stuff too.I don't know if they have delivery or not.

@snowy22315 That would be ideal if they did deliver. I have been in need of a new mattress for so long myself. I use two quilts on top of the mattress which makes it more comfortable.

I would not wash it in the bath tub either. It would weigh double with the water soaking it through. I'd love to get a weighted blanket, might have to be on the look out come fall. Where did you get yours?

@paigea Sounds like a plan. My friends and I pass me around clothes or we used to. We're all losing weight and I am smaller than they are, so they can't really pass them to me anymore.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It is for me. I got rid of some clothes that are too big that were nice enough for the thrift shop. But, the ones that are garbage, I am still keeping! I can't garden enough to wear them out in my life, and they are too big!

There are a few things I will hang on to, a few that I'll ask friends if they want, and the rest will be trashed. I am trying to organize my room as best as I can.

Ah, someone talking about Goodwill, now that got my attention, LOL! I LOVE Goodwill. Glad you found something useful. I always find something useful at Goodwill, much to my husband's chagrin!!!

I found a cute little beach themed night stand at another goodwill a few months ago. I haven't always found furniture I could use, but then I haven't always looked. I am going to start doing that now.
Some things I'll keep, but I'm also on the look out for things I can re-sell.
