I have maybe too many clothes, or maybe not. Right now they are divided by types. Short sleeves, long sleeves, tank tops or sleeveless.
I am thinking of sorting the tops by color instead. All the black and white, all the pink and red, etc. It might make it easier to find things that match the pants I choose.
I will leave the pants sorted as is, though.
I have some I only wear at home.
Some have full length legs. Some are capris, some shorts.
Perhaps I will get rid of some that I do not wear. Or some that do not fit comfortably.
If I take things out to look at, I can judge much better, for sure.

@GardenGerty In my previous house, I had room to hang them all on hangers so they were easy to find. Here I have them mostly in drawers. I don't have huge amounts of clothing.

I have more clothes than I ever wear because I tend to wear the same things all the time until they disintegrate. I'm not a fashionista.

Mine are sorted by type. Makes it easy to store the summer or winter away as the seasons change. My short sleeves are always in the closet

Working from home I have that problem, I wear the most comfortable clothes around the house but have a closet full I do not wear if I do not go out,
