For what it is worth, here is what I think

Let me say, I am fully vaccinated. For the most part I do not believe all businesses should mandate vaccines, but maybe health care facilities should. Maybe they should not, but if not, medical grade masks always. I am reading that there will need to be booster shots for those who are vaccinated, due to the changing variants. Possibly, probably. This does not sound too different from our flu shots. Yearly vaccine, because of the different strains. So, I guess what I am anticipating is a yearly covid vaccine, adjusted for the emerging strains. That is just what I predict. I have a friend who is a receptionist in a radiology lab in a hospital. She does not do the flu shot. She is allergic to a component of it. She is required to wear a mask during flu season. Of course we do not have a definite "covid season" yet. It appears to be happening year round. I just think it will likely come down to booster shots and masks in public possibly year around. I will take a booster if it is offered around here. I note that our local doctor's office is reinstituting some of the more strict precautions, such as a screener at the door, masks for all, ink pens you keep when you sign something. We are all still learning. But I think there are more shots and maybe more masks in our future.

Here I can see them mandating that all students in the school system have the vaccine along with the list of other vaccinations that they must have in order to attend school. I would think that most work places would follow suit. I have heard that some choose not to take the shots due to religious reasons, but I am not aware of what religions actually are against vaccinations, health and safety for the world that we live in. I know of someone who cannot take the shot because she has been warned that she may react based on another allergic reaction she had previously.

At this point it is not approved for children under 12. Jehovah's Witnes, I believe would not take the shot. It is possible I am wrong, though. Absolute worst reaction I ever had was to the second pneumonia shot. Also the Tdap was painful. All the rest, including shingles vaccine have been minimal.

@GardenGerty No, I realize that it is not approved for the little ones, but those 12 and older, including the university students, should all be vaccinated if they intend on attending on campus. I hope that it will not be long before those younger then age 12 will be approved for the vaccine. I know of a lady who is pregnant and got the shots before realizing she was expecting, her baby is now partially vaccinated.

@Juliaacv I heard that some infants are being born with antibodies due to this situation. I work with kids 12 and under.

I never had a flu shot, but I had the vaccine. Despite being fully vaccinated, I never go out without my mask, simply because I know that the vaccine is not a "magic shield" and many vaccinated people are getting Covid. I dislike being vaccinated every year, so I hope in a cure for Covid.

You may actually have some natural immunity to flu. Yes, I am back to wearing a mask in stores. It is not yet required but I imagine it will be soon.

@GardenGerty No one complains here, the local newspaper asked people to know how many were against and only a little 3% of the population would like to stop wearing the mask.

Not getting the vac here, I never got flu shots either, That is just me. With no one to take me anywhere and with my anxiety problems and not going anywhere alone I am just staying in mostly and rarely venturing out, Rightly or wrongly that is just me,

You are probably correct. I feel for the children who do not need vaccinated and masked.

They do not know how a vaccine will affect kids at this time. Some do not do masks well either.

@CarolDM My primary student last year was mask free. For him to understand me, I often was mask free one on one, but in the halls I wore my mask.

In my country, were still looking for more vaccines, but they already propose a system that if you have no vaccinated proof/I.D then you can't enter public or private facilities: markets, mall etc. and they want to implement this ASAP or by end of August. But the problem is we still lack of vaccines and most only have the 1st dose, while 2nd dose is pending and other citizens who wants to get vaccine still in a long line of waiting for the priority listing(Health Workers, Senior Citizens etc.) to be done.

@GardenGerty what Im hoping for is that manufacturers will produced more vaccines, instead limiting it. If the manufacturers would produces more vaccine and make it more affordable then I think many countries would get it and we might have less people getting the virus. But everything is up to the higher ups

I continue to wear a mask when I go out in public, which is usually just once a week, anyway.

Most of the places I have been going are health related and they do require masks and take other precautions as well.

I expect boosters also. I know many places require the flu shot to work and expect all of those to include the covid also.

I agree about the booster and I'm sure we'll have to wear masks (or I will continue to) for quite awhile. I do wonder if we'll ever get past Covid or any variant of it.
