Stayed home to get more packing done but that didn't work out as planned.

So instead I got a few other things done instead. I finally planted a cone flower that I purchased in June. It's been sitting in a tray and I make sure water is in the tray so the flower had fed itself all this time. The picture is the newly planted coneflower. My plan was to take up some boxes and continue packing less used things into them but I discovered the boxes I saved were all to big. I'll have to get more at work later for that. My cupboards are now ordered and will be shipped Aug 18. My goal is to be ready to move forward the week after that if at all possible so much of the older cupboards can get picked up with the heavy trash the beginning of September. If I don't get it done by then we may wait an extra month but will see. I put a few games on my phone and have been playing them in between working on my kitchen. I've changed my mind in the kitchen flooring we picked out. It was a white with grey splashes. Since my husband can't take off his shoes, he has a prosthetic, I'm concerned the floor will need washing oftener than I'll have time so now I'm considering a wood floor instead. Now too agree on the same color. My husband wants something in grey while I don't. I'm painting the walls grey and feel that will be to much Edit: we did find a more natural color that we both liked so it all worked out.

I agree that grey walls and a grey floor is a bit too much. I hope you can agree on another color.

The cupboards will be white and I might sponge paint the walls to show a bit of white through them but still I want it light in the room.

@MarshaMusselman The free wall of our kitchen is white, there are tiles in the kitchen and I keep the wall and the ceiling white because I repaint every year to keep it clean.

@LadyDuck leaving one wall white would be another option. We did find a wood floating floor we both like the looks of and I've been buying colorful dish towels to give the room more color.

I think switching to a different color floor is smart. Hope you find one that you both like

I hope so too. He keeps saying it's my kitchen I can do what I want but he doesn't like all my choices.

The only game I play on my phone is very bingo. I haven’t played in a long time though. If the floor is much darker then walls I think grey would be okay.

The room will have several colors in it. The grey paint has a blue tint or looks that way.

We found something we both liked. I hope it's still available when we're ready to do our bedroom and living room. It's a popular one right now.

Are you moving very far? It's not much fun packing up.

Just from one room to others, lol. We only redoing our kitchen. So far I have boxes in an extra bedroom and the living room. I may have to carry a few to the basement but I'm hoping that won't be necessary.

@JudyEv hopefully we'll have it out back together within the weeks too depending on the countertop.

@MarshaMusselman Oh, I see. Well, even that will be quite stressful as it make other rooms crowded for a while. I'm sure it will be worth it though.

Lovely flowers here. You will enjoy a wood floor I believe.

I saw someone else's home done all in the same wood and loved it. We found a color I think we'll both enjoy.

That was supposed to be newly planted. Thanks for the heads up. I thought I saw all the typos but maybe not.

We did and liked what we picked out. After we get the cupboards we can order the flooring. It will take several days to dismantle the current cupboards before we can begin putting the flooring in although we're not doing any of the work.

I like wood floors (even faux-wood) for aesthetic reasons

I like them too but could never afford them before. Eventually we'll put a wood looking tile floor in the living room, hall and our bedroom which got discolored with the old carpeting.
