I was talking to one of my fellow classmates from my coaching institute and got to know that two of our coaching institute teachers tied a knot with each other. The lady is a widowed women in her 30's she have a son elder than me by 2 3 years and the man was bachelor man in his 30's slightly younger than the female. In India, getting married at such an age that to again is a big step especially if you are a widow and if a women is getting hitched to a younger man it is considered as a big no no for the society. Of course, i am happy for the two and wishes best for them but still i am thinking is it that easy for someone to forget your old love and get someone new?

Yes, I do... Humans have an unlimited capacity for love/caring/respect. The more people in your life you care about, the more the love stretches and encompasses them.

In India such marriages are not respected by the society . It's sad why people don't like such marriages. I am happy for the couple because it not easy to take a step against the society but they took. Hope they have a happy life together.

@sjvg1976 since it is a school and teachers dating and getting married would leave a bad impact on the students and their parents. Also it is a new school so it's reputation is important too

Well it’s not forgetting you old loves. You have to think about it does the other person once they are gone want you to be happy? Do they really want you to cry over them forever or be able to move on and find someone to fill the spot. It’s not taking over that love that you had for there other person. Because love is endless you can always creat more and the love you have for another person will never be the same as the love for the next person.

I cannot forget any one my loves. I have learned from @Vandana7 and other Indian MyLotters that being a woman in India can be difficult.

Unless evil ones like me shake up the society, things not gonna change. Kudos to the lady. I would be scared if she had a daughter though instead of son. Then finding a match for the girl would be tougher, and the society would tell her that her mother is bad, and she could end up leaning on wrong shoulders, and left with regrets. Gossip mongers are usually women. So kinda, boys are sort of insulated TO AN EXTENT.

@vandana7 That is the sad truth. Women are stigmatised - and often it is other women who gossip and spread evil rumours. You would think women would support each other, but no, this is partly why their situation is so bad. If they worked together things would change immediately!

Yes. I feel love can happen twice. A couple may break up due to certain reasons. After some time, they may meet again and be able to appreciate the good qualities in each other. No person remains the same. As time passes, we grow in wisdom and maturity. Even the pain and challenges that we face in our life gives us a lot of strength and wisdom. Just because we do not like each other now, it does not mean we will dislike each other after ten years also because both of us will be chnaged persons by then.

I guess as long as we open our heart, then it's possible. Some people even get married more time than that.

For others, age is just a figure, what is important is interest, right match and two people happy and have a love chemistry. It's what matters most-love chemistry without this, one may fly away.

Yes, I believe this. It's not easy to forget the old love. And I think that it would never be forgotten if it was true love. But someone can love again and it will be something different.

i believe it's possible for love to happen twice - maybe it won't be the same kind of love, but i think it's possible. also, i think that age doesn't matter that much, because maturity isn't age number, but a mindset. at least that's how i look at it. also, if you lose your partner, you should be capable to meet someone new and even like the person, you're not supposed to be grieving your whole life, it's not healthy.

Yes, we all knew about their affair since long. Once my then boyfriend said he doesn't like it that way and i told him the same reason that she have a long life and living it alone would be difficult and if they love each other then why shouldn't they accompany each other for the rest of their lives

It is not necessary to forget your old love. If you have loved someone and shared your life with them you will never forget. But still one must not live in the past. Life starts again every minute and you have no choice but to move forward. Why deny yourself the chance of a happy partnership again if the opportunity presents itself?
