Called the doctor again

Because I had not heard from my referral, I called my local clinic. got the phone number for the dermatologist. The earliest I can see a dermatologist is September 3. That would be in Wichita. I can wait until October if I want to see her at a closer clinic. My doctor says that is too long to have no treatment and will have a Physician's Assistant drain it and prescribe antibiotics if needed. It will not be until Wednesday, but that is okay. It is coming. So, that is the big deal with me today. Waiting on the phone since 8 a.m.

Oh boy that is a long time to wait for a specialist. I guess only you can make that decision about how long you want to wait.

That is a long waiting, they usually do this at the ER as you walk in locally.

ER costs a lot more. My personal doctor will take care of that we decided this morning.

@GardenGerty We pay nothing for the ER and nothing for the doctor, it is covered by the healthcare.

It's the same here, for even a regular doctor there's a long wait.

Right now I know people are trying to make up for when we had no elective work because of covid and then everyone is back to school as well.

It has started draining on its own. I am going to have it removed. Taking antibiotics first.

Wow! That would be too long to wait. Happy you will get seen on Wednesday. Hopefully, the draining and antibiotics will give immediate relief.

Vince had to hunt up a referral today. We've had to change doctors but we're gradually getting organised.
