First~good news! Our hurricane has been downgraded to a tropical storm. Still expecting heavy rains and winds, but haven’t lost power, yet! Last Sunday we spent the day at an arts festival. Our friends met us, which was so much fun. We also shopped and stopped for a margarita and some Mexican food for lunch. Took a cruise on the water. Shopped some more, then went to dinner in a different seaside town. Such quaint and beautiful old New England houses. We had dinner outdoors on the patio overlooking the water, watched the sunset and moon rise, and listened to a live band. Today, I am thankful not to be near the ocean at all. Lots of flooding here in Connecticut.

Yes, there were a lot of rough seas today in Long Island Sound. So many quaint towns and shops. We live in a beautiful area.

@DianneN Yes it is expensive but some things are worth the extra and living in Connecticut is for me.

Wow, look at all those beautiful flowers .... or are they bushes, I can't tell. I pray the flooding won't harm anyone, that is paramount.

I hope their power loss was temporary and has been regained. Nothing is worse than losing what's in the fridge.

I had to look. Flowers and a few bushes. Very pretty grounds there. That is extremely important, but most of CT has had some good luck with the tides. Invited friends who lost power to stay with us. Will know tomorrow.

Take care & be safe. We too at Hawaiian Islands, bracing Tuesday night and Wednesday, for low pressure remnants of Linda. So glad, you've had a super nice time with friends! God protect us & our homes & vehicles from disasters of any kind, and all our utilities including cable, dish & internet use, thank you, in the name of Jesus, amen.

I’m thankful you’re away from the “direct hit” of Henri. I’d still prefer to be 300-400 miles from one making landfall…..

Thanks, but it is what it is. If we moved further inland, we’d be worried about tornadoes. Antarctica would be my choice if it weren’t so darn cold.

We had bad floodings here in NY too some schools got damaged and people lost their homes and some lives. I'm lucky where I live it didn't get that bad and the creek behind my house didn't get high enough to flood our house thankfully.
