Saved my mom $29.10

The other day my mom asked me to buy her a comforter from an online website. After I put it in my cart and went to check out I got a pop up from Capital One Shopping for a discount on my order. I decided to use it and applied it to my order.
Instead of $194.99 the total came out to $165.89. I ended up saving her $29.10. Had she not asked me to buy it for her and gotten it herself she would have ended up paying $194.99 as she doesn't have Capital One Shopping. And she actually ended up paying that when she got the same comforter a week earlier as a gift for her friend.
I don't think you have to be a Capital One customer to download that to your browser and use it, so I should tell her to look for it and download it. No reason to miss out on possible discounts.

I totally forgot I had Capital One Shopping. I was surprised I got a discount offer. Glad it gave me one though.

Nowadays there are many online stores competing to promote discounts from small to massive discounts. In Indonesia alone, every opportunity they hold a massive discount. I think those who give discounts don't feel lost and go bankrupt.

Would have been great if she had asked me to get the one she got for her friend instead of ordering it herself. I would have saved her money on that as well probably if the discount was available then.

@lovebuglena We do not have "coupons" here, but all stores have weekly sales, they propose some items at a good discount. If I am not in a hurry I wait.

@LadyDuck That's a good idea. I buy things that are on sale that I use, even if I have them. I'd rather save now then pay more later.

Sometimes items are only sold in one place so you can't really shop around for the best deal. You may get lucky and find a discount code you can use though.

Yes. And even better when you don't expect them.

This came out to 15% off. And there was free shipping on top of that. And surprisingly no tax.

That's great that you were able to save her some money. I use cash-back apps like Be Frugal.

It was 15% off. Though when I took 15% off the regular price the new total was not exactly what they gave me.
The cents amount was different.
