Ding Dong, Scammer Calling

I have a landline tied into my internet. It rings all day and I let it go to message.
There is a new tactic the scammers are trying. One call kept saying that they need to talk to us or our attorney. If we don't call back today, they will document that we gave up our right to counsel.
I got sick of this and blocked them. Now, I get another threatening call from a different number telling me to immediately call the number I blocked. What? Are they kidding? Both numbers are robocalls.
The scammers have been getting more clever. What kind of scams are you getting on the phone?

I don't get any scam calls. You should unplug your landline phone. Unplugging it won't affect your internet service but it will give you peace and quiet at your house.

@akalinus Yeah, if you get real calls on it, then you're stuck. You have a cell phone, don't you? If you do, give that number to the doctors and your friends.
I pay a flat rate for calls anywhere in the world. $35 a month for unlimited calls, texts and 6 Gb of internet coverage.

@akalinus It sounds like it isn't using the local services. Without seeing it, though, I can't tell you if that's the problem or not.

@DaddyEvil I have a cell phone but it is not reliable for calling or talking for a long time. It drops calls often or they just sort of vaporize into the universe. Who knows where they go? Sometimes I get a message that I can make emergency calls only and sometimes messaging or messenger do not work.

@prashu228 You can see who is calling and ignore them if you don't recognize the number or name.

No scams here so far. I always check the number and unknown numbers are ignored.

@allknowing Thank you. If they call me, I try to find out why.

Most common ones are car waranty renewals, or solar power.

I don’t get as many as I once did. I know how irritating they are.

I thought they outlawed robocalls. I'm not getting any. I'm sorry you are.
