Wasted Time

In one of the quizzes on Dailybreak, today was a question about the average amount of time per year a Los Angeles commuter spends sitting in traffic. The answer was 167 hours. That comes out to 6 days and 23 hours. That's a lot of time. That doesn't include the time spent driving to their actual destination. That's time people could spend doing a lot of other stuff. Preparing for tests if they are in school, interviewing for a job, talking to friends on the phone, preparing dinner, getting their exercise for the day/week, reading books, or how many other things? Do you ever think of the things you could be doing while setting in traffic?

When you consider there's 365 days in a year typically that's not really all that bad.

True, BUT, when you are in your late 60;s and think of this amount of time it adds up.

No... If I'm stuck in traffic, I'm reading my ebook on my phone. I just glance up when I notice motions of the vehicles beside me.

Train your dog to nudge you when traffic begins to move again.

I rarely if ever am stuck in traffic for extended periods of time. Not to say it hasn't happened. But with my phone I can still be productive.

Interesting and I never thought about it, I do remember when I did have a car if someone else was driving I would be looking at a magazine, reading something, or even eating something to pass the time, With no car now I have not thought about it,

The LA traffic is horrendous; and the rush hour starts early in the afternoon and ends after 6 pm. We don't run into traffic jams often now that we live in a semi-rural area.
