He hid my purse

I carry a small turquoise purse when I shop, or go someplace. I took it in to my sister's house.
My sister wanted some help with her refrigerator and pantry so I got up to go in her kitchen. When I was done, I went to get my purse and maybe check my phone, I was expecting a call.
I could not find it. I looked on the floor by the sofa where I had been sitting. I looked on the sofa, beside my husband. No purse. I did not say anything, just looking. My sister asked what my problem was, and I told her.
She said "Have you looked under the cat?"
My sister has a large rescue cat named Zeus. He is very friendly, and weighs over 20 pounds. He especially likes my husband Bob.
Zeus had decided to sit by Bob, so he laid down on top of my purse. I could barely see a little bit of the strap coming out from under him.
Next time I lose something I will check with the cat first.

My phone is just on vibrate. He would have muffled it completely.

@LadyDuck @GardenGerty that might have been amusing if he suddenly felt vibrations beneath him! I know years ago we used to have pagers for work. On several occasions I suddenly leapt up in the middle of something because my pager was on vibrate!

I thought Tinker was big until I met Zeus. She originally got him for a friend who wanted both Zeus and a dog, from the shelter. The shelter gave them a good deal on the pets. Later the friend was having trouble caring for two pets, and she adopted Zeus from him.

Bob is my hubby, Zeus is possessive of places, things and people. He really did not want Bob to leave.

I have seen him lay on his toy when the neighbor brings the dog over, and he found a silk flower outside that he hoards and hides from people. He is quite the kitty.

He just spreads out all over the place. Often he is laying on his toy, one of those things with a ball that goes round and round and a card board scratcher. I guess he is pretty possessive.

@GardenGerty I think the bulge that the purse made on the sofa would cause him uncomfortable.
