Organising life around MyLot.

Greece
October 4, 2021 11:22am CST
So many MyLotters write about all the jobs they have to do, want to do or have already completed. They sound so organised. How do you do it and still manage to share spare moments with others? Sharing is of course the pleasure of MyLot and I would be interested to know how others manage to make the time to sit and relax and enjoy it. My daughter suggests I make a list of jobs so that I can work my way through. Probably if I do this I should put MyLot at the bottom of the list as this is my biggest distraction. Something happens to time when I pay a visit here....

I wake up very early in the morning and I always spend my first hour of the day here at myLot. I stop for a second coffee around 7 a.m. I do what I need to do around the house, I prepare lunch and I sit here soon after lunch for about another hour.

I am very impressed. If I could get up as early as that I would have time for everything! It iis a good idea to break your time here into two. Sitting for over an hour at a time makes me feel stiff. Your break doing some housework in between sessions is a good idea.

@41CombedaleRoad It's almost 8 am now, I am here from 6, I stopped a couple of times to load my washing machine and to do my bed. Now I stop again for a second coffee.

@LadyDuck So you have already made 2 hours on here and joined lots of discussions I expect. Being global it means that there are always others around to communicate with you and produce discussions ??

Even for me to it's the biggest distraction as I forget the time while being on this site.

Sanjeev, much as I enjoy meeting up with you, I am afraid that we are one of a kind and you can't help me.....

@sjvg1976 Perhaps one of those times that we could set and listen to the minutes ticking away might help.

Ha Ha Ha! My sentiment exactly! Mylot is a total distraction. And yet, here we are, hooked and addicted. Seriously, I did ponder about that long ago. It's as if mylot has taken my life away. But as you say, it's the 'pleasure of sharing' with virtual friends that makes our little ordinary lives beautiful. It's therapeutic. We find that our experiences in life are much the same. We take comfort in the advice rendered us. We also become some sort of a shoulder to lean on. How to cope with life while mylotting? Hmmmm. Just put the fire to slow mode and let the broth simmer longer.

I have discovered, rather late, the benefits of the crock pot, or the slow cooker as it is known in the UK.

We are at least meeting real people even if it isn't quite the real world as we knew it.

Retirement is great. Plenty time for Mylot

And also a little exercise simple Jim. I am glad you are enjoying your retirement. i am a woman so there is no such thing as retirement. Work happens at home now instead of in the office, and somehow there seems so much more of it and such less time in which to get it done.

Know what's important to you, and put that at the top of the list. Personally, each person is unique. Mylot is a job, a way of life. One I'm thankful for.
