Bobby Flay is out at Food Network

Celebrity chef Bobby Flay has been at Food Network for 27 years but he and the network couldn't come to terms for compensation during recent contract negotiations so the network ended them. He will be done when his current contract expires. He is one of my favorite chefs on the network. It is a shame that Food Network keeps letting really great chefs go and bringing in new people who just don't have the same cooking chops. There are no more shows from Alex Guarnaschelli, Giada de Laurentiis, Anne Burrell (she now hosts a competition show), etc. Paula Deen and Mario Batali lost their shows due to legal/personal issues. They now have legit unknowns in their weekend morning lineup and I have never seen anything that they've made that I wanted to make myself. I've seen Bobby Flay in: Iron Chef America, Beat Bobby Flay, Barbecue Addiction, Bobby & Giada in Italy, Chopped, Throwdown!, and Brunch at Bobby's. He was in other shows as well but I just never saw them. He has restaurants around the country and several published cookbooks. I just received his "Beat Bobby Flay" cookbook this afternoon. Haven't even cracked it open yet. I'm pretty sure he has more money than he will ever need but food TV has been a huge part of his life so I can only imagine that he will land on another network.

Me thinks Flay is a bit too big for his britches. He has plenty of revenue streams, why does he have to exploit Food Network?

@NJChicaa He doesn't need one. It isn't like he is curing cancer. He is a cook for God's Sake!

I see Alex Guarnaschelli on The Kitchen. There will no longer be Beat Bobby Flay? Not that I watched every episode of every season but whenever I did watch it it was really good.

Yes she is on The Kitchen but her instructional cooking show (Alex's Day Off) has been long gone. Same with Anne Burrell.

@NJChicaa I loved the one show she had, Worst Cooks in America. It was hysterical!

I'm sure he will find a new gig soon enough.

That's a long time to be oon one single network. I'm sure we won't see the last of him, though.

It seems to be a trend to release the good persons in the Food Network since the celebrity does not have the power to grab the target audience of 18-49 year old persons,

Maybe these big names are asking for too much. The FN figures they can get unknowns in for much less and have people with less demands.
