A Heads Up On Artificial Sweeteners

Do you use artificial or use syrup, salad dressing, or sauces with this "sugar" in them? If so you might want to know about this new study that is being done. It says that products with Sucralose in them may actually do just the opposite of what you may be using them for. This ingredient may actually increase the appetite of obese people and especially women. This product comes in many forms and in many products such as SucraPlus, Sukrana, Splenda, and Nevella. Also, it is found in diet sodas. It may cause increased activity in the reward center of the brain and will actually make a person eat more rather than be satisfied with fewer sweetened items. They may be 'sensitive' to these artificial sweeteners. It may trick the brain into feeling hungry. I'd rather just use regular sugar or honey. Image courtesy of Adobe Stock free images.

I'm the same way. I know a lot of people don't want "real" sugar because of the colories or the 'fattening' properties, but it's healthier for you over all.

No wonder my feeling of taking Splenda is hardly different from eating cereals with sugar.

@celticeagle Most likely scenario since the sugar in the cereal makes me kind of ill while without the sugar I just feel a little bit better.

I warned months ago some myLot users who loved Splenda, I am glad that now studies are showing that those products are dangerous. I prefer a bit of cane sugar or nothing at all.

@celticeagle Splenda is a mix of stevia, monk fruit, and allulose. Stevia is a plant, but it's not healthy, it may harm kidneys, reproductive system, and cardiovascular system. It also interfere with blood pressure medications.

I like my Caffeine Free Diet Coke which has, unfortunately, aspartame in it. I only drink it every so often.
