Mystery Berry in Neighbor's Tree

Went over to pick up my neighbor's mail and took more photos in his yard. Noticed this tree with a few of these small acorn-sized red berries. Any idea what these are called? He has a bird feeder in the tree. I am sure birds eat these. Just wondered if anyone might know. Photo is mine.

I wonder if it could be a crab apple.

It is very small, like the size of a grape.

@CarolDM Some of the crab apple I saw is pretty small. I am not saying it is a crab apple.

A bit, but you can just about see the blackish remains of the flower opposite the stalk like on an apple, you don't normally see that on tomatoes.

I don’t recognize the berry. Looks like there’s thorns on the tree.. that might be a clue.

It almost looks like a cherry tomato. I have an appt which identifies flowers I've never used it with produce before. I know it doesn't work as well in just greenery.

That berry looks lonely hanging there all alone. No idea what I might be but certainly a good conversation starter as to what it might be.

Wow it looks like apple. I don't have idea about that tree bearing like that. It seems the fruit is sweet and tasty. I wonder why it bears only one fruit.
