Messing with an Indian dude in Idaho? Or a beautiful communication? You decide.

I am trying to get my Montana phone account working right. I am speaking to my "representitive." He has an Indian accent, but he speaks good English. We will get the issue resolved.
I hear a baby crying in the background. My representative is working from home. I ask him about his baby. He tells me his baby is six-months-old.
I tell him I love music, and ask him to get a xylophone and/or a stringed instrument for his baby. I "demand" that the NEVER buy his baby anything with batteries in it.
We have a few laughs, and he thanks me for my words of wisdom.
Was I "messing with" an Indian dude in the US? Or was I giving a free music lesson in a random situation?

@TheHorse Perhaps he will buy thousands of things at Guitar Center and I will get rich on commissions. Or not.
---------------Does that mean you're getting commissions now?

I hope he enjoyed the conversation. At first, I thought I had been "outsourced" to India. But I had just driven through Idaho, on my way back from Montana, and he actually looked out of his window to check whether there the was snow on the peaks. Apparently I beat the snow by one day.

A good Guitar Center employee would have made him buy two guitars, from Guitar Center, for his baby but don't worry, I won't tell your supervisor.

@TheHorse You have my silence for forever. As long as my California tax refunds keep getting bigger.

As far as I know, all telecommunications "specialists" are in India, Chile or the Philippines. You just happened to contact one in India.

@TheHorse Yes, most of the telecommunications people you talk to in other countries will tell you their name is Bob or Lisa, too. Do you believe them?

@TheHorse I always want to ask what their real name is but haven't done it... yet. I worked with an Indian at Walmart. HIs name is Raj but on his nametag it said Roger.

As a child psychologist, I am adamant about giving kids (even babies) things that celebrate cause-and-effect, but do NOT require batteries. Those things include soft stacky blocks, xylophones, stringed instruments, puzzles, etc. The greatest gift is to do things WITH your kid. But we're all busy, so that can't happen all of the time.
