How do you most often buy your grocery nowadays?

Go to supermarkets, hypermarkets? Wet market? Local grocery store around the area? Online grocery via app or e-commerce websites? Order via phone, text, or messaging app to the store for delivery or perhaps pick up? Or lucky you, you have someone else to do the grocery for you or you pay someone for the errand? Well, I will not include " I don't buy groceries" because somehow that would be impossible to not do your grocery at all or to not buy something at least Well, I'm in the "Go to supermarkets, hypermarkets" and sometimes to the local grocery store around the area. Online? Nah... seldom do I buy grocery items online but I do buy other things online just not groceries. I also don't have someone else to do it for me. I usually do the grocery once a month, sometimes twice and nothing much has changed with that even in this pandemic except for cutting my grocery trip short, sticking to my grocery list, and avoiding wandering the aisles and touching this, touching that. Well, every time I have to go out for errands, I usually try my best to do things quickly to minimize the time I spent outside and minimize exposure. Photo by Maria Lin Kim on Unsplash

The first year of the pandemic I got my ordered groceries and had them delivered since we new little about the virus. Eventually, as we new more and after getting the vaccine I started going out to stores again wearing a mask. Now I just shop mask less. Most people I've noticed have given up on the mask wearing.

Facemask is still mandatory in our place. One can't wander outside without wearing one. But slowly, things are getting back in place.

Hello there. This is a good post. I like online grocery shopping but it can never beat the feeling of exploring the aisles for your grocery stuff like you said. It's also like an retail therapy but we can probably compare prices easily to not overspend. Both ways are fine by me though.

Thank you! You are right, despite the convenience of buying things online, nothing beats the physical experience of going to the store itself and seeing in person what you are buying. You are also enjoying yourself when you do that. But once in a while, it is also comfortable to have everything delivered right to your doorstep.

I usually just go to the local store. Delivery options aren't available here.

Saves you time and effort. Well, that is what online shopping is for, to conveniently shop at the comforts of your home especially at a time like this where we are in a pandemic.

Glad to know. If everyone is cautious like you then the virus won't spread much.

Same here. It's still good to purchase your gorceries personally, but I do it quickly too and have my face mask and face shield on at all times. Better to be safe than sorry. I do buy things online too, such as desk organizer and the same things.

I have reduce buying things online due to the rise of shipping cost. It can cost almost the same as the item price itself.

I like to go in to the store to do my grocery shopping. I do a big shop once a week and collect any other items as I need them throughout the week.

@pitsipeahie I try to go out these once a week and do all I need to do if can in that one day then can do other things the rest of the week. So, when you run out of something you need do you go to the corner grocery or wait till when you do your grocery shopping?

@pitsipeahie I have forgotten some things that I wanted to buy on my list so I went elsewhere to buy them when remembered I wanted them. When I get my medication and do not have what I need to take then if have a substitute I will get that.

If the item I ran out isn't that important and can wait, then it'll wait till my next grocery shopping, if I need it right away, I'll just buy to the nearest mini grocery in our place.

I´ve been buying groceries online since about three years ago when I discovered one could order via online and then pick up or receive at the door. Shopping online is more convenient for me since I don´t have to enter the grocery store. Last time I ordered groceries online was today. Tomorrow I´ll pick up.} I used to live in a place where the only choice was to shop on a physical grocery store. It was a headache. Doing it online is a blessing for me
