I spoke too soon

So, I was willing to allow that it was heating season here even though I wasn't fully feeling it. The husband was walking around in long sleeves and complaining of the "cold," so on went the heat the other morning. I set it at a temperature of course, since I felt that my husband was overstating the need. That was it, I figured. I would just have to deal with the apartment feeling sort of stuffy. By this evening, though, it no longer was just stuffy. It had actually worked its way up to 80 degrees in here. No wonder I felt like the place had turned into a hothouse. So, I switched back over to air conditioning for a little bit to bring temperatures back to non-sweltering temperatures. The cats gave the action two paws up, of course. Now, it's set back to heat at a low temperature in case it gets too chilly overnight, and I'm seriously wondering about my husband. Didn't all of those winters farther up north toughen him up a bit? I thought that they had. So, are you running hot or cold at your house? And is there thermostat harmony?

I'm nearer to the Equator as of now, so the air-conditioner is a must have.

That would be too hot for me. As it is, I've had to switch the thermostat back to air conditioning today, because I felt like I was sweltering. Meanwhile, my husband is walking around yet again in a long sleeve shirt.

We still have the AC on, and it's only in the 60's at night so not time for the heat. My husband decided to wear long pants, but that's on him.

Now, that sounds sensible.

@wilsongoddard Yeah. Kind of. I'm fine with it, honestly. It's still hot during the day, but I'm glad it's not at night.

Our heat is not thermostat controlled. We have one of four wall furnaces actually turned on. We have heated mattress pads on our bed. Hubby runs his pretty warm. I turn mine down, or off. He sits with a heating throw on his lap. I sit bare footed with short sleeves.

It is good that you have a bit more latitude in terms of adjusting for different heating needs.

It gets cool overnight and sometimes it's a little cold in here in the mornings but by about 4pm I have to turn on the swamp cooler.

I think that I made it to about 5:30 or 6 last evening. I was in the warmer part of the apartment, so I thought that it was just that. I didn't realize until I checked that it was reading 80 at the thermostat itself.

We have the same problem here of sorts. The actual heat and air doesnt work..they need a new unit. But I have heaters, space heaters and one of us is always different from the other. I get over heated..cant stand heat on. My son on the other hand is always cold it seems. And he has a lot more body than I do. I guess its just a persons make up. And then with the portable AC..I dont want it on, he does. lol

Usually, we aren't quite this far apart about temperatures here. At least, we haven't been since we first got together.

Running somewhere in between It's cold outside at nights so heating goes on for a while Set to 62 degrees. Daytimes, it's switched off. 80 would be too hot for us

I don't know how the temperature got up to there with him not even noticing considering that he was wearing long sleeves. I guess that he really was off in his own world.

There seems to be something wrong with our thermostat. If we keep it at 17C (62.6F) it is just about right but by rights that should be way too cold. It will be interesting to see what we'll need to set it to in summer.

That is odd. Oh, and I so envy you the use of Celsius. I prefer it to Fahrenheit, because it just makes so much more sense.

Heat a little at night. Nothing during the day for now.
