Have you ever eaten at Panera bread?

I bought gift cards to use while we couldn't cook but we've been eating at home some too, but tonight I thought we'd try out Panera bread and use the only gift cards I bought. My daughter took me there for lunch years ago but I don't think my husband has ever been other than one time we held up the drive through trying to decide on something. I want soup for sure but not sure whether I'll have half a bowl and half a salad or a full bowl of soup alone. If you've eaten there before what do you like? If you've never eaten at one and have the choice of soup, sandwich or salad what would you go for in chili weather?

We won't go much as it's expensive compared to other places. But the soups are good. The salad was huge and delicious too.

The set up is different and like a fast food joint where you take your own tray to your table. Our food came up quickly before we even got our drinks and table. We have one more gift card to use so will go at least one more time. I may just get the soup and nothing else. I hear the beads are delicious but I don't want not need the extra carbs.

I’ve eaten there but I didn’t like their menu. I think I tried the soup but I didn’t like it. I only went once.

Their menu is a bit confusing but we asked a lot of questions. I enjoyed my soup and apple salad but may only have the soup the next time. We have eight weeks before our countertops arrive.

@MarshaMusselman I would rather make a hamburger at home than eat one from a fast food place.

@jstory07 We don't have any kitchen sink at present and can only wash a few things in the bathroom. I cooked spaghetti yesterday but not again until our kitchen is complete.

Some like the bread choices others like the broccoli cheddar soup and the rest w weren't impressed. We may go once in a great while. We like burger King for they onion rings but they weren't very impressive today. Their burgers were cold but the rings were still good but that's not a meal.

No, I do not remember I ever had Panera bread in the United States and it does not exist here.

@MarshaMusselman I know it was founded in 1984, that is a long time ago, but I did not remember I have ever tried.

@MarshaMusselman I ordered it to be delivered. I think the basil is only in the tomato soup.

I enjoyed my meal and not having to cook. We'll go back at least once. My store sells some of their soups and dressings but it's expensive unless they do a two for one sale and then it's out of stock by the time I shop.

Oh yes I have but it was many years ago when I was working at malls. My favorite was the cheddar broccoli soup in the bread bowl.

That's what I was going to have for soup but I changed it to a vegetable soup instead. I think the broccoli would have was warmed me up better.

I really like Panera because I love all kinds of bread, but my favorite thing there is the cinnamon crunch bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. Too many fat grams, though, lol.

I can handle the fat grams but it's the carbs I can do without. I didn't eat any of the bread or at least not much.

The main things people get are soup or salad or sandwich or two combinations of ant of those. You can also get half sizes. Others like their choices of bread as they have a lot of those to choose from too.

I used to go there with my teacher friends between conferences. I’ve tried all those. Their bread is really delicious! Enjoy whatever you order.

I enjoyed both my soup and the apple salad but they were both huge portions. I had some of the bread but didn't want all those carbs.

Yes, I have. It was for breakfast and had some kind of bakery item. I don't remember now. For a different meal, I'd go for a sandwich.

I didn't realize they were open for breakfast but it makes sense if they have bagels as Carol said.

I have been there twice. Once with my boyfriend many years ago and then about two years ago with my great-aunt. I like their pastries.

I don't plan on trying their pastries or I could gain back a lot of the weight I lost over the past couple of years. Although I am eating some carbs again. But I don't want to overdo it.

I don't eat soup or salad, and don't get sandwiches from out besides burgers from only a few places, and spicy chicken from wendys.. I've inly tried a cinnamon roll from panera and didn't like it.

I have always wanted to try it. And the one time my mom and I were actually considering it, they closed it down at the mall, I don't know if it has opened back yet, I don't think it was permanently gone, we just never bothered to look. I am a sandwich person through and through.

I didn't look at the choices for sandwiches. My husband took a tuna which I thought he could get at home. I had soup and a salad but it was a lot to eat.

We may not frequent the place but we'll go back once more to at least use up our second gift card. There as a lot of choices made it hard to make a good decision.
